We came across this pub on our travels, when we were looking for a light bite and we are glad that we did. It's quirky in decor and very friendly. We only had a sandwich which was very nice.

Lovely friendly pub with awesome food with generous portions. We don't go here as often as we should be when we do we've always had a great experience. We last visited on a Thursday evening for something to eat and the place was so busy we had to wait for a table. It's good to see such a thriving business

Charming, cute countryside pub,Filled with locals, feels like a members club.Variety of exotic and different beers, the perfect place with your mates to say cheers.Food was surprisingly good and hearty, better to get your own plate though, not for sharing with a big party. We highly recommend the fishe pie, savour every bite before time flashes by.

Unnecessarily awful experience.Popped in for lunch and were told that we would need to “go to the other room because of the lad”. Assumed this was my 12 year old son as no other explanation given. We went to the other room and remarked that it had no atmosphere as there was no-one else in the room. The pub landlord/server then told us that we wouldn’t be served and that we could “go to the Norton” (another local pub). We explained that we’d walked all this way especially to come to this pub. We were told that this rule was a condition of the license and we said that this was helpful context that would have been good to know from the start. We were told again that we should leave and that we wouldn’t be served. In over 30 years of going to pubs in the UK, this is the most unfriendly, unwelcoming experience we have ever had.

Called in for a late lunch. First time visit. Service was polite and a great selection of beers and food.Food was on the table for 4 of us less than 10 minutes after we ordered. Fantastic service, especially as the pub was full. Will definitely be back

Love this old historic pub. Great selection of real ales and looked like a good food offering. Spacious garden.

Terrible experience here very unfriendly and unprofessional manager/owner. If you have kids under 16 you’re segregated (lunchtime) into a shoddy back room with no atmosphere. When we were overheard discussing this - he literally chucked us out the pub!! I know if I’d read this I’d think they must have behaved awfully, but we are a normal family who were only discussing this situation. Never experienced this type of aggression before and never been segregated in a pub with a 12 and 14 year old - the whole pub was for eating - not just this back room. Landed up at the Queen Victoria and had a delicious lunch and they couldn’t have been more welcoming. So from our experience if you have kids avoid this pub at all costs, my children didn’t need to experience his rude and quite frankly nasty manner - he should really advertise this pub as adults only if that’s what he clearly wants.

I was visiting Stow Hall Farm to visit my other half's family, and I really wanted to visit the Prince of Wales. Great reviews. I found it very beautiful and very friendly. I didn't eat but met two people who had visited for the first time too. They were amazed at the pub and said that they would definitely be back. They had heard of their reputation, so they visited. They left very happy as I and my partner. I'll be back, and this time, I will definitely have a meal for sure!

My expectation for service, food quality and atmosphere was high. I ordered Fish and chips with mushy peas. Others in the group chose Scallops. The service was prompt and courteous. The atmosphere was the best Olde Pub" I have found. The decor supported the history of WWI RAC at Stow Maries with fascinating Posters and pics. The Fish and chips were a LARGE well-prepared portion - what a Value! The parking and grounds were very tidy & welcoming. Thanks for a great visit.(from USA)."
