Never seen staff so rude and unkind!

Very modern and love the recent refurb, staff are very friendly and helpful.

Place is nice and quiet and is only a short drive to the city centre. The staff are nice with some exceptional staff. had basic needs met and the food wasn't too bad.The downside to this is they are severely understaffed at times which is on the managers not staff so you can expect to wait for them at timesWe were told one thing which seemed to change before we moved in which was not ideal to say the leastI'd say look around until they sort the staffing issues as it affects the quality of care you get

I have worked for the Langdale Chain for almost 4 years now and recently took over as Home Manager at Acorn Hill. I have now been there for 3 months and absolutely love it here! staff are friendly and residents are well looked after. the refurbishment that has recently been done by the company was well over due and families and residents comment on how great the building looks, the great atmosphere and friendly staff.the support you receive from higher management is fantastic and I couldn't ask for more!

Not even worth the one star if your planning to work there or send your loved ones I would think twice. There are far better homes based in leicester.

My relative is in here. The care they get is questionable. I've raised concerns and never really been happy with the explanation given. If there was a care home closer to home I'd move my relative in an instant. The new staff are so rude! I've waited 15 minutes or more at times to enter. Watching staff look at me waiting, and NOT opening the doors! Booking an appointment is incredibly difficult. The person who answers the phone is rude, never understands you, and is not polite in any way. The manager, (Paddi) is not a good person. She rarely gives me a nice impression, not dose she make me feel welcome. I have raised my concerns to her, to get nothing back! The home was a nice place to go, it's not that now, the new staff & manager have ruined it.

Acorn Hill was taken over by Langdale Care Homes last year. There were a lot of improvements and the home has evolved in a very positive way. Langdale has the reputation of improving the services for the service users and their families. Highly recommended for people looking for quality care!

The care given to residents is good, the staff are nice and there are some exceptional staff members there. But the directors/ owners throw their weight around way too much! They treat the staff with little to no respect. They operate in such a poor manner, I worked there, I have seen the stress of the staff. They are on minimum wage, no uniform provided, no sick pay, no benefits to speak of. Holidays are not given in a timely manner, put suspended because of covid (they are if your good with the directors tho) They only give you a weekly rota, citing they cannot give a month upfront! As a member of staff here I have seen the turnover of staff first hand, and they do not care about you here. The upper management are not professional, they threaten you with all sorts of nonsense, your a tool to them, not an employee with rights. I feel sorry for the staff there, they deserve better. Took you 4 months to reply! If you really cared you'd have responded much earlier. Facts are facts, I worked there, I was abused by you and the rest of the management there. Think I'll just send the letters and screenshots to the CQC and see what they have to say about it all. Its not the first time you'll be reported to the CQC for staff treatment. I know it's happened in the last 6 months.

This place is worse than a mental asylum! I know someone who used to work there & they used to come home crying everyday! They don’t value the residents. I wouldn’t put my enemies in this place so please don't put your family in here. The manager treats her staff awfully & has no respect neither does she know how to treat her staff or residents families.
