Machine Mart Gateshead

I was in today looking for advice on the correct tool for a specific job...the staff are always very friendly, knowledgable and don't just want to sell you something - if its not the right tool for the job, they'll tell you and suggest an alternative. Good customer service and staff who are genuinely interested in helping is rare these days, so well done Machine Mart Gateshead.

Husband went to the store from heaton to get some tools, as soon as he walked in the shop he was blocked on entry, demanding him to wear a mask before he could tell him he was exempt and show his card the sales person was trying to get him to go and get a mask but explained it was in his car in heaton the sales person saw my husband get out his van.My husband then got a load of bad attitude from the sales person, so he just got back in his van and drove to Halfords instead and spent over £1000 there, also had no issue regarding mask. My husband is a mobile mechanic and is kitting out his van, but will not be going back there rather go elsewhere. Such a shame as was a regular customer.

Had problems with a new clarks generator. Went in for them to have a look and the service was great he tried him self to get it to run and just exchanged it would definitely use the one at gateshead again

Purchased a hulk evolution petrol whacker plate and pad for my driveway business after recommendation from the help staff at this store. On using the named item on 3 medium sized drive ways the pad has perished down to the bad design at a cost of £50. The whacker plate has multiple issues the kill switch doesn’t cut the engine off as it’s faulty, the exhaust has snaped off the manifold and stripped the bolts clearly a manufacturer fault! Took the piece of kit back to the branch we’re I bought it 2 months and 13 days earlier were the staff again were helpful rang manufacturers who said the would need to see kit to come to a decision on what they would do. No refund or replacement item offered and when asked for refund with item being faulty I was told to ring coustmer services. Rang costumer services at the store on loud speaker the gentleman I spoke to was rude and told me I could not have a refund on a faulty item even with a valid recipient present! A replacement would not be giving either and I explained I’ve spent £450 on the item with extras I’m half way through a coustmers job can you not take the word of a staff member at branch? He the replied no there just sales staff needs to be a engineer they are there to serve customers only! I replied well the same staff gave me info on the product and a glowing report on the item how it works and that it’s a reliable machine so how can’t they say yes this is a manufacturing fault? He said they can’t and I would be without the product for 14 days even tho I clearly stated I want a full refund! Coustmer service is none existent and didn’t care that this affected my small business as it is a integral part of me completing a job! I was then told anything with a motor needs to go back to manufacturer, I then asked we’re this was on my receipt or small print anywhere he replied it’s not so I then said again this is a faulty product and should be refunded! He replied no. Don’t buy from this company as they will gladly take your money but if something goes wrong with it they will not be so happy to help!

Ordered a motorbike lift on 7th December paid for next day delivery 8th December after waiting on all day phoned to check where it was to be told forgot to put it on for delivery will not get it till Monday Asked for the extra money for next day delivery to be refunded and told they would try not good service machine mart especial when I told you we had been badly let down by another company and you assured me it would be delivered next day£700.00 spent with you disappointed to say the least

My experiences of Machine Mart are pleasant ones, the staff are helpful when answering any questions I have, it is not very often I leave shop without making a purchase, free parking but not a lot of space, but overall no problems

Very helpful staff. Knowledgeable and friendly. They were able to check what i needed was in stock and also to help with my purchase. All good! :-)

staff are good, always have most things i need, however very poor repair service, tech had my welder and it was returned with parts missing from it, I am not impressed so for service and repair i score a 1 and that was only because you cant score a 0
