Went to the Sunday morning service. A medieval church on Glastonbury High Street that has been beautifully restored. The choir is well established and is a joy to listen to. After the service you can stop for tea coffee and cake.

There are some fascinating things to discover here. Not least, the various concerts that help to keep the Church going. As a historical building, the experience is a little mixed. Certain things have been moved and a new floorspace created to facilitate the concerts. It's not quite the experience I expected, but the roof beams and stained glass are amazing.

Absolutely lovely church. Recently decorated, its fantabulous. The Xmas trees are great. Really really nice. And the holy thorn? Well, what can I say. Stunning.

Excellent community venue. There's always lots going on and there's a talking cafe every Monday from 10am.

Just about all churches are peaceful, but this one also appears to have parishioners who are very involved in day to day operation. There is a small cafe inside, catering to visitors, and there are displays giving information on work that has been done and work that is going to be done to ensure the church remains an asset to the community, not only in terms of history but in terms of pastoral care. The church welcomes everyone, and stands in contrast to the New Age flavour of the town with its more traditional Christian foundation.

Interesting stained glass windows. Some Victorian glass details were faded but in the main the colours were quite vibrant.It is especially good to see Christian witness in such an otherwise apparently mainly pagan town - going by the number of shops selling esoteric books, statues, crystals etc!
