I had been looking for a good nail tech for a while and I saw nailsbykaylsxo_studioglow located close to me. I messaged on instagram to say I need a pick me up after having a baby through this rough year. I specifically chose gels because they are cheaper and I didn't want long nails with a new born. I also noted the price list stated on Instagram being £15 for basic and up to £27 for nail art and gels for hands and feet £25. I had the most basic of nail art done on only my hands and gels, no extensions just French and painted on with soft gel application, not hard gel. Being a nail technician myself I had prepped my cuticles before hand so less to do as I needed a quick session due to having a new born as I don't have time to sit and do my own. After already sending a £10 deposit, I was then told the outstanding balance was £20, totalling £30 for basic gel application and basic nail art is beyond the maximum price stated on her price list and the lamp to set my nails was useless that by the time I had got home, 5 mins away, my 1 diamond (yes, only 1 rhinestone in total on a nail) on each nail had fallen off and the gel was indented and scuffed. I had to get home with a upset newborn and immediately set my own nails with my own mylee lamp. The whole point to have my nails done by someone else was to feel normal and do something for me after a horrible year with covid and pregnancy and instead I feel I was taken advantage of because business for them has been tough during these times. I have contacted other nail techs and we are all in agreement that I was well and truely ripped off however, I paid the price and I certainly will not be making that mistake again. I also, contacted her to let her know what her price list states and sadly she didn't accept responsibility and instead tried to justify by saying no nail techs tell their clients how much their nails have cost untill after it's done and that she is 'done with this conversations.' i was not offered anything to mitigate my loss or disappointment in the service, so I did notify her that I will be leaving a review. I certainly don't do that as a nail tech or in my regular job and it's especially important in these times where people are watching their pennies due to not being able to work. The beauty industry is suffering so at least be honest in these unprecedented times to your clients. Poor quality, poor value and very disappointing business ethics and professionalism. Such a shame.

Gorgeous salon, everyone is super friendly. I have come for my nails doing by Kayleigh since she moved here, she is amazing and I’ve had my brows done by Jordanne and they were perfect.
