Good selection of music. Friendly staff

Very happy with my purchases from Derrick's! Staff were very helpful when I had a question. There was a slight mark on the Misplaced Childhood CD Album I bought which I didn't notice until I was home but doesn't bother me as only small. Prices around the same as HMV - some cheaper and some more expensive but only a couple of quid each way.

Staff were very helpful when myself and friends queried about a magnum album. The staff were happy to help by searching online and were telling us the prices. I left there happy and with a Pink Floyd vinyl, super happy! When I'm next in Wales I would be happy to visit the shop again :)

Shop refused to refund tickets for a cancelled gig, despite returning the tickets, due to not still having an email they allegedly sent 2 years ago.Never buying gig tickets from them again.EDIT: Received a refund via original payment method 2 weeks later, after I started process to claim back through my bank. No communication from shop, still very poor service.

Bitter sweet experience, travelled 60 miles for drop two of RSD, got there early, managed to get my five choices, had priced them up before online, cane to pay and it was considerably more than I expected but the pressure was on for others to get in to buy their selection. Outside I had a look at the price labels and everything was £4 more than expected except one that was £6 more. We went on to two more stores that were participating and confirmed they were selling at the expected price so ultimately I feel ripped off. I'm unlikely to visit Derrick's again, I don't mind a slight price difference but £22 more on five albums is unreasonable. One I could have bought online with postage for £10 less when they went onSale at 6pm. Just Greedy.

Something for everyone here. Great amount of both new and used vinyl and CDs. Great prices, freindly staff. Musical instrument upstairs had some very intriguing used guitars, basses and effects. Well worth a visit.

An absolute gem. I got the first Wishbone Ash album on CD, and King Crimson's Larks. It stocks the remasters on vinyl, and prices are reasonable - unlike the ripoff coffee 'n' vinyl places springing up everywhere - and it must have the best selection of Budgie albums anywhere. This is a PROPER RECORD SHOP, a sort of Walesland national treasure, lose this and you lose cultural depth.

BEWARE DO NOT BUY CONCERT TICKETS FROM HERE!!!Absolutely shocking customer care and shambles of a business!My husband bought tickets for a concert, went into collect them and was told by the owner Chris that the ticket weren't ready. He bought these as an anniversary gift at Christmas time so I was super excited to be going to see Gregory Porter in the summer. The booking paperwork with date of the concert was written on by hand by the owner Chris was incorrect. So even though he went to the store to collect the tickets before the said concert he was advised they weren't ready. We were absolutely fuming to discover that the owner had got the date wrong and my husband was told on returning to the store that there was nothing he could do. He wouldn't accept any responsibility and just told him that Live Nation wouldn't do anything about it. No wonder record shops are going under if all customers are treated like this!!!!My husband is massive records fan and he won't spend another penny in that shop again! No refund, no apology, nothing!
