We ate from here this evening for the first time since the new owners took over and the whole family agreed that it was the best food we’ve had from a chippy in YEARS! The chicken was succulent and flavourful, the chicken burgers were delicious and the chips were incredible. So pleased to have a chippy we can go to where we know the food is amazing and it was also SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than every other chippy between here and Rochford. Will definitely be going back regularly.

After reading such good reviews on google maps we had to try this fish&chips and we wish we never did. The worst fish&chips we ever had in southend! Chips very soggy and fish with under cooked batter and no taste at all. Everything was so plain. Even didnt get offered salt or vinegar. Very dissaponted with our dinner. Such a waste of £25 ! We do not recomment this place!

My go-to fish & chips place for delivery via JustEat. Food is always good quality, hot and well packaged. Only reason it's 4 star and not 5 is because they don't offer salt / vinegar on the checkout page which they should for a chippie (they would if you ate in store).

Been using Cluney Fish Bar for many years. ‘Old’ staff were brilliant, real friendly - but new staff seem nice too! We get fish, burgers, sausages & of course chips - haven’t noticed much difference except with the chicken burger which used to be like a steak, covered in delicious Southern Fried coating, served in a seedy bap. My lad says it’s now like one of those economy £1 burgers from Macdonalds. Guess some business genius wanted to save a few quid - pity because now if anyone wants that burger we’ll have to go elsewhere…

This has recently changed ownership and gone are the amazing community friendly staff along with the quality of food. Tried a few times under the new ownership and excellent is now an average at best. Batter wasn't cooked properly on fish, smaller portions and burgers poor.We will go elsewhere now. Sad as used for years.

Large chips is more like a regular but with less in it and the price has increased by £1 won’t be going back unless something changes

We come in every week after school and usually the food is amazing. This evening, they messed the order up and when we called to inform them. They were rude and blunt. The chips were hot but very soggy. The burger was very basic not worth the money. Such a shame as normally this place is very nice

Herd great things about the new owners and how the food had improved well i certainly cannot compliment enough. my Parents loved the cod specials and me and my wife loved our burgers. The chips use to be under cooked and soggy but now hot and crispy. i was also pleased on price. i use alot of chippys local and i think this is by far the cheapest on most items. This will now be my number 1 and thank you Cluny
