We changed to Melton Veterinary Surgery after a negative experience at another vets and could no be happier with our choice. All the vets & staff we have seen have handled our senior cat with the utmost care & professionalism and have provided advice & reassurance at all times when required. Could not speak highly enough of them.

If I could put no stars then i definitely would however apparently you have to put atleast one!!!I took my dog to the vets a week ago today because I knew he had grass seed in his paw they dug around in there and said they found nothing and I had 2 options.1. Bandage it with honey to draw it out.2. Operate to get the seed outImmediately I went for option 2 because my theory was just deal with it and then he'll be back to his usual bouncy self, how rong was I!!!On the Monday so 4 days late he pulled his bandage off and the other side of his paw was swollen and his foot looked absolutely butchered i took him back that same day.I was told they'd leave the bandage off and see if it heals. The new swelling then burst access style.I kept cleaning the puss and blood that was coming from my dogs paw and he was so unhappy still.Yesterday (day 7) I rang them to explain what was going on and to express how unhappy I was, they explained on the phone that obviously there was still something in there and that they'd have to see him again and give him more meds, I wasn't happy about that and rang another vets, got some advice and assistance.Day 8 is now here and I noticed thick blood was weeping from his paw so I cleaned it and felt something hard so I very carefully removed it uncovering the grass seed that wasn't in there (so they said originally)!!!!!I pulled this grass seed out spike first meaning this wasn't its entry point and when they were flushing my poor dogs paw they pushed it into the other side of his paw!!!I feel this vets is all money money money with absolutely no care for the actual animal several times since the op they've mentioned other procedures that will make them a killing.I paid £550 for them to move something to another area of my dogs paw!!!I told them exactly how useless they were and that they will never see my dog again due to the pound signs I see when I was talking to them which they didn't even deny.

Melton Vets are a quality vet surgery. The staff are really approachable, friendly and professional. It’s easy to find and they have an emergency out of hours service, but note that there is obviously additional cost for this service.Vet fees align with most vets in the area, but note that they provide prescription letters which enables you to buy drugs for your animal at a much lower price.

Had to take my dog here as an emergency on a Sunday afternoon. Despite the out of hours nature the staff were friendly and reassuring. They were also able to arrange transport for my dog to my local vet the next day after an overnight stay. Cannot recommend more highly for emergency appointments.

Thank you so much for the care of our beautiful Whippet on Sunday evening. He’s our entire world, but we knew he was in safe hands being left in your care for a few hours. He’s back to his normal self now, thanks again.

Avoid - utter rip off.Just had a dog scanned for potential puppies. Last scan I paid for in Wiltshire was just over £52 inc vat and consultation. Melton Vet Surgery charged me over £216 for the same scan (inc VAT & consultation). I subsequently rang the nearest alternative vet practice and asked for the cost of an ultrasound and was quoted £55 (inc VAT and consultation). There is being expensive and then there is charging almost 4 times as much as the average, any way you look at it this is a Vet Surgery I recommend you avoid.

Amazing vets. My cocker spaniel is registered here and today for the first time he had to have an operation due to awful grass seeds! The ladies were all lovely and caring to me and my dog. Especially Meg the veterinary nurse, she was wonderful and rang me to update me and explained everything when I went to pick him up. She took such great care of my dog and it made me feel reassured knowing he was given so much TLC whilst with her. So grateful that my dog is registered under their care and for what they done for him today.

I work next door to the vets. The staff are so lovely, I've found a few injured wildlife cases that they have helped me out with! Always willing to have a chat about any advice needed and always have treats for your pets available! They take their time with each case and even do little goody bags for children in the school hols ❤ every customer I've spoken to is always singing their praises, from excitable bouncy puppies to anxious animals to end of life care, they genuinely love the pets they care for.
