Travelodge Birmingham Hilton Park M6 Southbound

This has got to be the worst travel lodge iv ever stayed in. My office paid for breakfast but when I went down to reception I was given a small cardboard box. IM VEGAN, I couldn't eat any of what was on offer. I asked for the vegan option and was told there wasn't one. I asked for a refund and was told it's not possible and it's clearly marked on the website. I feel ripped off. I'll be heading over to Google now to put a review on there just to warn others who will feel as disappointed as I am right now.

The hotel is condition was absolutely horrendous.I had to move rooms three times.There was a failure to inform me that the entrance to the service station would be closed due to roadworks, and I spent two hours driving around, looking for a way to the hotel in the early hours of the morning.The carpets were absolutely filthy, I would need to wipe my feet on a towel before getting into bed.The room stank of damp, and there was actually mould, forming in the bathroom near the ceiling area, there was no extractor fan, or at least it was not working.No plug sockets beside the beds, I had to charge everything at the desk.When finally, settling into the third room, the desk chair was absolutely covered in thick layers of dust, as I wiped it off, a cloud of dust filled the room.The towels were marked with brown stains, even the receptionist was aware that some were marked and was checking for them in front of me.I’m absolutely appalled, especially having spent close to £400 on a completely disgusting place.

Lovely staff and great easy location but that’s where the good news ends unfortunately. The hotel is in desperate need of a total overhaul and is very rundown. Definitely a workman’s hotel because of worn out muddy carpets all over and rooms look very tired and worn. Musky atmosphere almost damp like old tobacco. However that can be overlooked. My main concern was the bedding was in no way clean and looked like it had be reused and that is not expected even from an old first gen travelodge. Very unpleasant.

Very handy location just off the M6 southbound. Friendly staff evening and morning. The room was basic but a great shower and little traffic noise from outside our room. It’s time travelodge got up to date and provided free WiFi especially important when demand increases the room price. Update just had a £60 parking ticket from Moto Services saying we overstayed not happy

This hotel was fine for one night. It wasn't spotlessly clean, but if you are tired after a long night and need a bed this is the place! The main plus is late checkouts. The staff are also very nice and accommodating!

When I arrived I was feeling very unwell, and the lady at reception was just brilliant. She got my room changed to downstairs, and sent me off to bed while she sorted out my car reg for parking etc. I could not have been more grateful.The room itself was clean, comfortable, and peaceful. With an ensuite bathroom, television and tea and coffee making facilities. There was also a vending machine in the reception area, which was very useful.It is also very safe as the only way in to the corridors to the rooms is with a fob attached to your room key.It is right on the M6, so very convenient, and everything you could possibly want from an overnight stay on a long car journey.

Me and my partner stayed for 2 nights for a trip to Birmingham. We stayed at the travelodge before driving to walsall Station (15ish mins) and getting the train to Birmingham.We paid extra for early checkin (12 o'clock), arrived at 11.30 am, and they had a room ready for us, which was great. We also paid £10 to bring our cat with us. This was great, and the receptionist was good with him. Our cat felt safe in the room, and the hotel was accommodating.The beds were comfy and typical travelodge beds, which is never an issue. There is no breakfast availability, but there is plenty at the service station attached, so there are no issues.My only slight issue was no plug sockets by the bed, which is a nightmare when you want to charge your phone overnight and watch it before bed, also the WiFi is charged daily, which is I guess why the price is so low.Overall, for us, it was a perfect hotel experience.

Perfect for a stop-off on a long journey, or for lorry enthusiasts!The rooms were comfy and clean, and the staff were friendly and gave the children colouring and puzzle sheets. The shower was lovely; warm and powerful.Our youngest child thinks it's important to note that she was not keen on the smell of the handsoap!

When we entered in the room it was smelling cigarette. And like always mattress was sloppy. We have booked for 2 nights and were there for business but next morning when we woke up our backs was hurting very badly. This is not first bad experience with travelodge it happened so many times before. But this was last time now. We ll never ever book with travelodge again. Its better to pay bit extra and book with other hotel.
