If I could give more stars I would! Absolute perfectionist in every way. We looked at Chris's reviews prior to our decorating as we have been let down so many times by trades and needed a quality decorator that's true to his word. Well, we hit gold with Chris. Our house is listed and difficult to work on. High ceilings and old. Chris has brought life back into our house and it's walls and such. Even L.S. Lowry would agree that his old house that he hated is beautiful, homely and decorated to perfection. Any other projects we have I would definitely use Chris and recommend him. Fantastic work. Thankyou!!!!

Chris has been absolutely fantastic. He’s completed a large job for us on a listed building he’s totally transformed our home. He’s methodically worked his way from top to bottom taking care always. Everything has been protected, prepared, and finished to perfection. He’s even restored some old original doors that seemed beyond repair to us… now they are brilliant. He’s punctual, does what he says he will do when he says he will do it. He’s polite and obviously takes a lot of pride in his work. The paint he uses is also absolutely fantastic. We can’t thank you enough Chris. We won’t hesitate to book you again and if anyone is searching for a decorator I wouldn’t recommend anyone else.

We used Chris to do some fairly extensive redecorating of our home. Chris was very responsive to our initial enquiry and took the time to understand what we were trying to achieve. He had some sound advice and we were grateful for his inputs. Chris kept any disruption to an absolute minimum and was very tidy. Quoted by Mr Bowes for painting and decorating the whole house comprising of stripping, re-papering and painting of 3 rooms with the rest of the house emulsion to ceilings, walls with preparation to woodwork before painting. In addition a hairline plaster crack in utility bathroom which only required filler and light sanding.The house had already been painted with Farrow & Ball throughout with primer and undercoat before topcoat applied therefore he quoted for just one application of both gloss and emulsion. We again supplied F & B paint to Mr. Bowes to use.Mr Bowes has excellent wallpapering skills he is extremely precise in this area of his work.Unfortunately this did not extend to our experience of his painting work in our home.* Preparation/ResultsAn electric sander was used on the woodwork. This removed paint including base coat which was unnecessary and left exposed nail heads & blemishes in skirting that were visible after painting. It also left window ledges dull & unevenly covered. In addition the old caulk was not replaced merely painted over exposing the old cracks.An electric sander was also used on hairline plaster crack which removed plaster down to architrave of doorframe then just painted over no filler used to repair the damage.Re 2 bathrooms. Didn’t use frog tape we supplied to mask/protect tile beading to ensure a clean line resulting in paint smears on top of beading!Mr. Bowes offered to return & address these issues we outlined to him but after careful consideration we decided to use another decorator who agreed that the caulk should have been replaced, the woodwork had been unnecessarily over sanded & all these issues could have been avoided.All issues have now been rectified to a high standard but of course with an additional cost unfortunately for us.

Chris has decorated our hall and stairs to a fantastic finish. He is a perfectionist and always more than helpful . The decorating has exceeded our expectations and what was a very dingy area is now transformed to a fabulous light and airy place.
