Just this month alone I have rung 600 times (no exaggeration either) and when you finally get through theres either no doctors available or you can only get a telephone review.

I have had a disgusting service from the receptionists at Branston Surgery, my 9mnth old daughter had an accident and bruised under her eye, I rang the surgery for an emergency appointment as I didn't feel it was necessary to go to A and E, they point blank refused, I asked them to speak to a doctor, and they refused again, I explained it was for a baby and they said to take her to A and E, I explained its not bad enough for A and E and due to covid A and E are under a lot of pressure, they then said they were transfering me to a doctor, to which they put me on to another receptionist called Irene Jay who was extremely rude and hung up on me twice, I was a desperate mother and needed help with my GP, after she hung up on me again I called 111 who advised me to call my GP so I explained what happened and luckily I got an appointment at the hospital, disgusting behaviour they refused to put me through to the manager and didn't advise how to raise a complaint

This practice has got worse as the years go by . Trouble getting appointments due to fact that they do telephone appointments first and 75 percent of the time they still want to see people face to face which means they are only doing half the appointments they should be doing . Needs a new management system and more medical staff

Understaffed with Doctors, cannot get an appointment unless it is an emergency. Unable to book appointments in advance, must ring on the day at 8am, wait 5 min to get connected, 5 min in a queue then be told no appointments. Even on the rare occasion you get an appointment, they are ALWAYS running late, over an hour at times. A very frustrating experience, no reflection upon the staff who are all seemingly polite and competent

I called Branston surgery at 7 weeks pregnant after 5 previous miscarriages to express that I had experienced intense pain in my right side. I had already had blood tests at the surgery and many times explained my anxiety regarding this pregnancy. I paid for an early scan for reassurance at 6 weeks. The reception staff told me they’d moved an appointment to enable me to speak to Dr Mahalingham and I should feel very lucky. On the call back I explained the pain was very intense in my side and I was really worried. Dr Mahalingham told me as long as there was no bleeding she wouldn’t be able to do anything.I then paid for another private scan as I knew something was wrong and they found there was no longer a heart beat. I was obviously devastated and the sonographer was disgusted that my GP hadnt referred me for a scan when I called.I was then referred to the hospital for another scan to confirm this. They were also shocked, with my history that I hadn’t been referred after the pain.I told Dr Mahalingham and she noted it on my record as a ‘missed abortion’.I messaged the surgery once I had seen this and complained. She called me 2 days later, argued with me on the phone (while I’m grieving) then hung up the phone.I called the practice manager in tears, no apology. Just asked for me to email the complaint to him. There’s no care at this surgery. I just feel for anyone else who has to deal with them.

Rude and unhelpful staff. Terrible system to try and get an appointment, and of course you can only ever get a phone call because the GPs trying their very best to not see people face to face long after the height of the pandemic has passed. I hope someone is reading these dismal reviews and looking to change reception staff and processes for appointments - edit-I will add another star as things are starting to improve

The staff are really nice at this practice, you could not wish for better. The lack of doctors has been an issue and to be honest you never know who the doctor is going to be on the day. I phoned for an appointment this morning for a phone appointment, the doctor was really nice and he took time to listen and he also reviewed my meds. Could not have been better other than face to face, but I have to say that mostly a telephone conversation is perfectly fine. I have had an instance when I have had a phone call that lead to a face to face in the last twelve months, and again the doctor I saw then was a great help...I think in the past we have been spoilt by having an excellent doctor, and we continue to compare, the practice has struggled, but in general it's improved a lot. One thing that has not changed, and I don't think there an answer to the problem, is the mad dash at 08:00hrs in the morning for an appointment.
