Went for dinner here as part of my sister’s birthday weekend away. We were told they could not seat our party of 9 as there were no tables free. We witnessed a suitable table become free but were told it would take a half hour to clear. After offering to clear the table ourselves, so we could sit together, we were bluntly told no and ushered to two separate tables.Menus were dirty and sticky. So much so, you wanted to wash your hands after touching them.No table service. Ordered food and drink at the bar. Which arrived fairly promptly and the quality of the food was good overall but overpriced. We sat surrounded by dirty tables. No tables were cleared throughout our visit. You would expect better service in a fast food restaurant.Given the food was good, disappointing experience and would find it difficult to recommend.

We dined here this week as a family of 5. We stayed at the CBeebies hotel and decided to eat here, which is the main restaurant within the enchanted village within a 5 minute walk from our hotel. We didn’t book and turned up at around 1730 and we’re seated straight away which surprised me. The place wasn’t busy at all and lacked charm or charisma considering, but this may be due to having come from a very colourful hotel.Staff were pleasant enough and took us to our table. Unfortunately I found the food to be poor across the board. The chips were very dry and I found the fish I ordered quite tasteless and was left shocked at the price of the meal. I assumed that being at a resort, prices would be high but I felt that the standard of basic food did not justify the cost.We had not long arrived at our hotel so felt limited in where we could eat for the evening hence coming here. Having now left and sampled dinner within the windmill restaurant at the CBeebies hotel, I would definitely say the food was much nicer here.

Evening meal here, and booked beforehand.Slight queue, then seated with menu. It wasn't too busy on arrival and soon quietened down. This is an order at the table with a real person place, and the staff were really friendly. The menu had a good selection and is reasonably priced for an on-park restaurant.Food came relatively quickly and tasted as good as it looked. The burger was juicy not dry, the pork steak was lush. The food was warm but not boiling.Puddings are a separate menu and another varied selection. The winner for us was Crooked Mess.Overall 4 adult meals, soft drinks and 3 puds came in just under £100.

Calm, attentive staff, small selection of food but tasted good. Not able to book, just turn up, no problems. Enjoyable experience. Would recommend that anyone staying at Alton towers hotel/pods/enchanted village, to go for dinner there rather than secret garden, much more enjoyable.

The Crooked Spoon
I visited The Crooked Spoon for breakfast as part of a stay in one of the Enchanted Village Treehouses. This review is solely based on the experience at The Crooked Spoon and not the Enchanted Village Treehouse which was great.Upon arrival, the waitress found our booking, however due to the clear chaos that had been unfolding during the breakfast service, there wasn’t one available – not the best start. What’s the point in a booking system if you’re not actually reserving tables for people? The whole experience was nothing short of disappointing. There wasn’t enough plates or bowls, so we had to wait 10+ minutes just for some crockery. The food was poor quality, cold and really sub-par. The staff were trying to replenish the food and crockery as quickly as possible but it was clear there wasn’t enough crockery or staff to do that fast enough.Unfortunately, if you’re staying at Alton Towers, there is a very limited choice for breakfast as you must go where you are staying. Because it’s included in the price and you can’t go anywhere else, it certainly felt like they’d given up at this point, and it did leave a sour taste after what was an enjoyable night in our treehouse.

Food was really delicious. Thick cuts of good quality meat. We couldn’t fault the food at all! Cocktails were lovely.Minor error with taking our order 1 item missing (rectified when we mentioned it).Fold out Serving tables left in the middle of gangways which meant I bumped into someone trying to avoid it. another left in the way leading a member of staff to walk into another and spill drinks on them. I think maybe they were short staffed and stressed, but could do with making sure these are moved when not in use to avoid accidents.

Absolutely brilliant place for dinner. We went into our reservation here a bit pensive as the previous night of our stay we eat at The Secret Garden restaurant and it was absolutely awful. The Crooked Spoon however was amazing and we are so glad we ended our stay on such a high. From the moment we sat down and was greeted by our waiter Robert we felt so relaxed and in safe hands, Robert couldn't have been more helpful and nothing was a problem for him to do.We ate some sharing Nachos to start, aSirloin Steak that was cooked medium as requested and a Tennessee Burger which again was amazing. The chefs are certainly good here as all was cooked perfect. The portion size was massive, we couldn't finish it all. We were so full we didn't have room for pudding, which looked amazing. When we come back we will definitely eat here

Unable to sit a group of nine, even with large empty tables. Apparently takes 30 mins to reset a table. Sat at split tables and given the most disgusting wet and stick menu's to read. Ordered food, food arrived quickly and was fairly good. Sat surrounded by empty dirty tables for most of our meal. Not a great experience give the high prices.

Great restaurant.Good service.Nice atmosphere. When we went they had a singer and the vibe and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was tasty and large portions - if a little expensive, luckily the pass we have gave us some discount.
