After a very bizarre confusion over where we were sitting (even though we had reserved a table), we really enjoyed a lovely meal (albeit a few undercooked chips on my husband's fish & chips meal).Mostly nice food.Good value for money.Comfortable atmosphere.Oh we were not charged for the child's meal - a nice surprise when the bill came.

Look out for a new superb place to eat! We just had an amazing lunch at the Tyler's Kiln. We were informed that they are under new leadership from award winning Chef Sam McClurkin. Thanks to Sam and the whole team for a delicious meal! Do not miss the tofu starter! It was fabulous! And the black garlic risotto! Will return gladly!

Really disappointed, hadn't visited before but on reading the reviews was keen to visit with family. Firstly we were told the soup was butternut squash but then transpired it was Broccoli. Mains order no pork belly, no American sauce on the menu, two of the dessert choices not available. Surely if you want satisfied customers at least have food available to serve. We only had a main and it was very enjoyable. Unsure whether to visit again.

Went for Sunday lunch, given a small table in glaring sunshine, so small it was difficult fitting everything on it, asked if we wanted a drink without a drinks menu. Wine £9 a glass, over priced! Did not ask if we wanted water. Had the three meat selection, the meat was tasteless and the veg was inedible. Totally under cooked. No ambience. We thought we would give the place a try as we had eaten there many times before covid. Would not repeat the experience!

Kathton House may have moved, but the quality of the food is just as great at the New location. And, to add there is a brilliantly stocked bar and garden to add.Amazing food and fantastic value too. Love it!

Edit: THIS REVIEW RELATES TO KATHTON HOUSE AT TYLERS KILN:January birthdays...always a tough nut to crack. Mid-winter, long nights, short days, post Christmas blues and industrial grade credit card bills make these uphill battles. So, planning a salient birthday party for our daughter and 14 family members just added another whole dimension of challenges.Spoiler alert: Kathton House had it covered and did us proud.Great menu selection (Sunday menu) which was pre-booked just helped to smooth stresses on the day, and the professional service team were slick, helpful and very friendly. The food was on the table on time, in the right place, without delays and the quality was really superb. Fourteen happy customers and the birthday girl loved it!

You won't be disappointed if you visit Tyler's Kiln, the garden has mod cons such as electrically operated sun shades and heating for those chilly evenings, the interior is immaculate as are the toilet facilities, the food is to die for and I'm affraid I can't comment on the beverages as I'm not a drinker, but there looked to be a decent choice, the service was fantastic with nice friendly bar and waitress service

Really nice venue. Well laid out with seating downstairs and upstairs. If live music is playing, it can be noisy so ask to be seated upstairs. There are effectively two menus - the cost effective one and the pricey one. We went for the former. Our waitress was knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions. Service was reasonably quick. Food was very nice. Toilets were very clean and well decorated. There was an overflow car park though it was busy and on a really busy night you might need to park down the road.
