Discovered Alpkit in the Lake District was impressed enough to walk to the store in Edinburgh. It's a large shop containing all kinds of outdoor gear. Friendly staff who are close enough help without being intrusive. I really like that have achieved B-Corp status and have published an extensive sustainability review. Highly recommended.

I could spend just as long in this shop chatting away to the staff as I do shopping. Wonderful atmosphere and very friendly staff who are very knowledgeable! Plus I’ve been an alpkit convert for years and the products they sell are top quality!!

Staff were knowledgeable (especially given how new the shop is) and friendly, and gave some great recommendations for bike trips in general. The selection is okay - they chose a breadth of different things for different activities, and it shows. The online shop gives a good overview.

Excellent quality outdoor stuff at, not cheap, but realistic prices. Staff are not pushy and seem to know what they are talking about, unlike many other outdoor shops in the city centre.
