Tynemouth SUP Boarder

I cannot thank you both enough for the lesson today - I have been petrified of the sea for over 20 years and not only did I receive the reassurance that it was ok, the safety briefing put my mind at ease and within an hour I was up and standing on a board and actually paddling. I have had the best few hours with likeminded people in a stunning location and may just have found a new passion at 50 - you are never too old to try something new xx

We had a fab time at the beach today. Johnny was a great instructor and they had all the gear ready for us when we arrived. I felt super safe and even managed to stand up... for a bit. We booked a session for high tide, that was fun as we could have a trek through the caves.

I just did the SUP beginner class, and had an awesome time on the river with Jonathan. He is a great teacher, and made us all feel very comfortable. We went to wansbeck instead of cullercoats, because conditions at cullercoats were not good for beginners. It's a great location. Superb being in the tranquility. I found I could get by on the board really well, and I'm definitely going to continue. I would happily recommend anyone new to paddle board giving one of Jonathan's lessons a try.

A summer holiday session was booked at short notice fortwo Grandparents and four children aged between 9 and 14.Three of us had no boarding experience at all .The session ran on the river at Wansbeck rather than the sea due to weather conditions.What an amazing fun afternoon we all had.Jonathan and Jessica were so friendly and professional . The equipment was first class, the safety instructions and PB techniques were clearly explained.The kids had a fun packed afternoon as did we. I can't recommend them enough. We will use them again. Thank you so much for the best afternoon of the holidays.

Really enjoyed the SUP session in the river. I was a bit apprehensive it would be freezing with it being March but with all the kit provided I didn’t feel cold at all. Johnathan was a great teacher and happy to answer any questions. Would recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed my beginner SUP lesson, Jonathan was patient and encouraging with us all. Jonathan and Jessica were very welcoming too! Highly recommended.

Great paddle board experience. Jonathan was excellent - friendly, knowledgable, supportive, clear relaxed instruction. Small group, so everyone got personal attention and the kit was first class. If you are starting out paddle boarding these classes are a definite advantage.

I’ve had two surf SUP lessons with Jonathan at Tynemouth SUP Boarder and both were excellent. I’m an experienced paddler, but always on flat water and larger touring boards. I tried to self teach with limited success. Jonathan’s lessons have been great, well paced, clear instruction and huge amounts of fun too. Nice extra touches too like hot drinks after the session. Great advice too, J has helped me choose an appropriate board, as I was previously choosing boards too low in volume. I’ll be back for more sessions for sure!
