On check in no one was available for 10 mins, got to my room and it stinks of cigarettes. The window is broken so it won’t close, the shower isn’t working and now the heating doesn’t work. 2 stars because unbelievably I’ve stayed in worse hotels.

Can't fault staff they go above and beyond, are attentive to customers needs and always polite and helpful! I haven't stayed in their rooms, but attend the regular pub quiz hosted here, a great atmosphere, has a restaurant and bar, lots of space, and I believe you can enquire over wedding packages they offer... I would say wheelchair accessible as well as have toilet facilities. Ben always very helpful and makes sure no issues, so a huge thanks from us for making our visits fuss free and pleasant, always feel welcomed at the White Hart.

Not one for a review, but had to post this one for the two superstars!Went for a few beers, while looking for somewhere to sit was greeted by the lovely Kay, who found us a couple of seats in the restaurant (went with my Dad). Once she learnt that we enjoyed a beer she took it upon herself to ask when we getting low (she knew the drill). We had a sharing plater and some little plates which was good value for money.The highlight of the night was obviously Lucy (Daisy Duck) behind the bar!! Can’t dance to save her life but was good fun… she had a good personality though so we will let her off!

Myself and family are currently staying at the White Hart in braintree due to a serious flood at our home. Our insurance placed us here and it has been lovely. Amazing food, exceptional service and lovely cosy rooms. I would never hesitate to stay again. We are so unbelievably grateful for everything.

I stayed here the night before my wedding with my mum, best man, my brother from Sweden and his wife.The staff are amazingly friendly polite and helpful.We all felt so welcomed the rooms were nice the food is great especially breakfast.And the larger is really nice too.I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

The bed was comfy and the shower worked and the food was OK. Very nice staff. I know it's an old building (parts) but the standard of maintenance is woeful, with broken windows, window frames rotted out, roof tiles dropping off and a littany of jobs that need doing. It's a shame as the place could be lovely .

Good value for money. Staff so friendly & so helpful & professional. Mon (breakfast waitress is amazing at her job) food is brilliant, breakfast superb. Rooms are a little tired but refurb coming but I like the quirkiness of the place. Can't wait to stay again.

We had a table for 11 book for yesterday Sunday 10th. When we arrived there was a sign on the door stating the kitchen was closed for ‘repairs’. This was a birthday meal and most of us had travelled an hour to get here! The lady (manager) lied and said she had called all tables and cancelled them this morning but we hadn’t had a call or email nothing. If she had,we could have anrranged something else. Absolutely disgusting, birthday ruined, no where nearby could accommodate a table of this size at such short notice! She couldn’t care less basically smerking at us like it was a joke!

Every single member of staff I spoke to for whatever reason was absolutely lovely. Helpful polite friendly. Everyone appeared to know exactly what they were doing and everyone was very professional.I gave the room 3 stars as the windows and the bathroom need a refresh. But overall a great experience. And one of the best lasagna I’ve every had. Thank you.
