Grenoside Woods

As a mountain biker, this is one of the best areas in the country to ride, the atmosphere and heneral friendliness of those that go is great. Shame about the rubbish that is left behind by the minority.The purpose built trails are second to none, and you can session them or do full runs. Very good for progression.The other side is Wharnecliffe Woods, which is a great unsanctioned trail hotbed, not for the faint-hearted, with the minimum trail being an equivalent to red graded, majority are tougher than that.

Gorgeous open spaces full of beautiful wooded trails for anybody who likes short or the longer walks/hikes. So pretty in spring with all the new flowers sprouting in gorgeous blue & purple and white flowers. It looked perfect. A lot of birds and wildlife around also which is good to see. This place should be protected at all cost, its jst such a little treasure, I was intrigued to know about the mountain bike trail also, as my sons started doing this recently, we went to look around so he could get a good feel for the area. Maybe a bit more experienced for him yet but it's on his list to come back in future to do the trail, it's very limited for wheelchair users so I'd try find other places to go that was safer for those who need to be more secure. Well worth a visit though. Jst wish I'd of got photos.

Great place for all outdoor enthusiasts. As a mountain biker it's fantastic to have such a great facility on my door step

Lovely woodland, not alot of parking, full of dog walkers and horse riders ,easy paths to follow.

Wonderful place, went there twice over Christmas holidays, travelled an hour in hope to see some snow and we were rewarded with snowfall. A lot of trails to walk around, fab views, car park and roadsides busy all the time.Only downside, very cute looking WC was locked.

Absolutely fabulous place to explore. Most places easy to get the mobility scooter through. Quite a few places that were empty of people

Love grenoside woods for walking the dogs. Plenty of friendly dog walkers all day. Just have to watch out for the boys on motorbikes who can be a pest.

Amazing trails at Grenoside for beginners to pros . So many features and gaps to level you up. Always friendly people there too happy to help out. Give encouragement etc. Places for good close by with pubs and fish and chips.
