Bank Top Garage

I pulled into Bank Top with my two young children after my engine started misfiring on the A1 during a long journey. The guys were brilliant and put themselves out to help me, and at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Excellent service - used them for 25 years. They won't rip you off. If they say work needs doing, then it needs doing. If things like brakes/tyres are getting close to the limit they will tell you that and the estimated mileage left but won't say the work needs doing immediately. Barry the owner, and Mel the 'real' boss are very friendly. I can't fault the garage at all and always recommend it to my friends

I can't say about having work done on my car but I can say I rang them at 1555 today asked how much for a diagnostic was told I wouldn't be charged for a diagnostic and if I could get down before 5 would tell me the code Also told me they was booked up till August which I explained I have a regular garage but they are fully booked till next week and didn't want to wait as it was the engine management light that has come on but was more than happy to reset the code not my usall garage but if I'm in the same issue again and can't get booked in at my regular garage would be more than happy to try the garage just from how they got me in so quick got the codes up and deleted them wouldn't take any money as a thanks as didn't do any work on my car 10 out of 10 from my experience today

Very pleased with the service here. Brought my car in early because it needed it's MOT and they were able to complete MOT and make several changes before appointment on Saturday. The team was very professional and kept me up to date of any changes. It was pricey as there was a lot to do to fix the car, but they were happy to go through each individual charge first. I will certainly be going back (but might check my screenwash is full first...). Thank you so much for the quick turnaround and professional service.

We've been using Bank Top Garage for the past 6 years since we relocated to the local area. Barry and Team can't do enough to help. Really great service, advice and sound prices. We wouldn't go anywhere else now we have found such a reliable, trustworthy garage. Highly recommended.

This garage handled my MOT last year, which was done quickly and pleasantly, albeit costly. Despite the high MOT price, I had given a 5 star review for the convenience and the helpful, friendly staff.This year, I wasn't so lucky. Initially, the staff were friendly, but the high prices for front pads and springs were astonishing, being almost double what I was later quoted from other garages based in Leeds. I was told that these parts were expensive, but it seems that the biggest cost came from labour. This dishonesty was not appreciated, at a time where every penny counts.I called back to have a retest once repairs were complete from another garage and I was met with a short response that they were too busy, dropping me outside the free restest period. I needed to pay for another high priced MOT. Needless to say, I took my MOT elsewhere and got a much cheaper price.I am disappointed by this, because I genuinely thought I found a garage for life.TLDR; good service, high prices. If money is no concern for you, I would recommend this garage.

We called into Bank Top Garage with no notice. We were on our way from Northumberland to the Midlands, and became aware that our rear (and only) brake light was permanently on. We thought it was dangerous to continue our journey as the weather was not good. Bank Top were really friendly, and could not do enough to help. They inspected the situation, ordered a part, gave us a courtesy car, and the brake light was mended within a couple of hours. We are so impressed with the great service and helpful approach.
