Dan is an amazingly knowledgeable and talented Luthier. He done a brilliant job of installing a pickup system and setting up my precious Lowden acoustic at a reasonable cost. There was Great communication from him and I feel very lucky to have found him. I’ll be taking all my guitars in my collection in need of work to him in future without hesitation.

Booked in our sons Godin guitar for repairs. Dan is very personable and the process was easy. I also needed to change times at short notice and Dan was very accommodating. I’ve been to Dan for a variety of things including hardware replacement, electronics repair, set ups and most recently refretting and neck shaping.He’s friendly, always does a great job and has massively improved the playability of my basses. Really quick turnaround time too, I’d highly recommend!

Top quality set-up and service. Dan knows his stuff. I've taken both acoustics and electrics for setups and repairs and have never been disappointed with the result. He makes me a better guitarist by making them sing again, inspiring even more creativity. Would highly recommend.

This guy is a genius! Took over a Harley Benton 12 string guitar which had arrived from the dealer unplayable, action so high I could slide a biro across the twelfth without touching the strings. In 24 hrs he had transformed it into pleasure to play. He also advised me on string choice. Money well spent as I now have a guitar I want to pick up. Cannot recommend him highly enough.

Very pleased with the fret levelling/crowning and the overall set up that Dan completed on my Tele pro 2, it now plays beautifully. Excellent communication and organisation throughout the whole process, I felt that my guitar was in very safe hands. I would thoroughly recommend The Guitar Engineer.

Superb workmanship, a speedy job and good value too.My Fender American Tele Deluxe had developed a problem with the S-1 Switch inner button popping up (a common Fender design fault apparently), so Dan suggested we replace it with a standard volume pot and change the 3-blade pickup selector switch to a 4-blade pickup switch which provides the same options as before but is easier to use than the fiddly S-1 switch.Dan also replaced the strings and made some set-up adjustments, and it now feels and sounds so much better than before.In future I will leave the setups on my guitars to Dan and spend more time playing.
