Mobility/accessibility falls below the most fundamental of requirements throughout the hospital. This is reinforced by customer service that falls below expectations.None of the so-called disabled" spaces follow a single point of the DfT recommendations on accessibility (see pic): no yellow-hatched guard areas

£250 for a 15 minute consultancy appointment is not the service I would expect from Private healthcare. Very haphazard and unprepared. Not particularly accessible for wheelchairs. The hospital itself seemed very clean.

Such a welcoming good experience at this hospital, very professional approach with everything from the initial consultation to the completion of my treatment. My consultant, Dr Mehat was excellent, very professional and more importantly, very reassuring as I am quite a nervous patient and I would definitely return to him to have my other cataract done when the time comes, well done. Very happy patient.

I was treated by Mr McKinley, had a small ankle surgery. In his own words, it should have taken, 1 month to heal. 6 months after the surgery, it still feels way worse than before it. Furthermore, every time I expressed concerns to him he was extremely dismissive of me.

I was at Spire Murrayfield so many times for various health issues over the past couple of years that I lost count of my appointments. I went through everything from MRIs, to various samples and tests, to anesthesia + surgery, talked to wonderful doctors, nurses, pharmacists, reception staff... After all of it, I could not be more convinced of this hospital's fantastic standards and quality of care. Thank you for making me feel at ease and well taken care of throughout. When going through complicated and frightening diagnoses & treatment, it's so reassuring to know you're in competent hands.

Absolutely fantastic experience at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital. My care throughout has been exceptional; Dr Paul Dewart and all other staff have been phenomenal. The hospital is clean, comfortable and I felt valued and heard at each stage of my treatment.

As a patient who has used Spire Murrayfield several times in the past through my previous employer's private medical cover, I had a good idea of what to expect about the level of care I'd receive. However, my already high expectations were vastly exceeded during my most recent stay (which was paid for privately, now that I no longer have private medical care through my employer). From the moment of my first consultation and promptly arranged MRI procedure through to the admission, surgical, and discharge procedures, I'm absolutely delighted with my experience.I received an outstanding level of care; the hospital facilities are immaculate (my room and bathroom were spotlessly clean), the choice of meals (and quality of food) was excellent, and the hospital staff are considerate and quiet at night, which meant I was able to get some sleep between having my OBS taken during the night.Every single member of staff made me feel as though I was their only patient; nothing was too much trouble for them, and they took excellent care of me.My surgeon, Mr. Robert Clayton, and my anaesthetist, Mr. Gavin Simpson, were attentive, and provided tailored care. They presumably had other patients yet I, once again, felt as though I was their only patient, and their top priority. Mr. Clayton, in particular, has been on hand to answer questions following my surgery, and has shown such dedicated attentiveness I've never experienced before from a surgeon.Maureen (Mo), who took me to my room and helped me settle in, helped allay my nervousness on the morning of my admission. Emma, the young nurse from Queen Margaret (who was only on days 1 and 2 of placement at the time of my surgery), provided some much-needed light relief, and chatted with me while she took my OBS (yet always remained professional throughout). Debbie, the physiotherapist, explained everything very clearly about wearing my moon boot, and ensured I knew how to move around safely, including how to use stairs when I returned home. Eden, who arranged my discharge, provided me with comprehensive discharge care, and ensured I had all the medications I'd need, as well as a letter for my GP, and a point of contact in case I needed to ask any questions (which I did). The whole team at Spire are exceptional, and I'll confidently return if and when I require private medical care in the future.Apologies to the other amazing staff not mentioned here; they were all wonderful.Spire: please could you pass on my comments and my sincerest thanks to your staff? They deserve to be paid their weight in gold, as the level of care they provide is exceptional, and truly second-to-none.Photos of my meals and me in my moon boot, as they were the only photos I took during my stay.

Very positive experience at Spire Murrayfield. Outstanding care, staff and facilities. Tailored individual care and made to feel safe and well cared for. Comfortable en suite room kept spotlessly clean and a wide choice of freshly prepared meals.

After a couple of surgeries over the past six months in both Shawfair and Murrayfield, I can safely say both hospitals offer a fantastic experience for patients. The nurses are so attentive and the consultants have been a godsend, getting me in quickly for procedures where the NHS were experts in slowing down referrals and sending me back and forth between hospitals with no intention of giving me treatment. The only slight negative which I think might be getting rectified was those awfully sexist call buttons on the ward in Shawfair (picture 1). During my recent stay in Murrayfield they had the generic call buttons (picture 2) so I’m assuming the old ones are being phased out. Please ensure the female ones are replaced as they send the wrong message - that I can press a button and a women will come look after me... no thanks! All in all - great experience and will return if needed.
