This is a fairly big Asda supermarket, but it is not, and never has been a superstore. Superstores tend to have a sales area of 35'000 square feet and above. And, for one of the trolls below, for your information, this was built for the Co-op, and used to be a Co-op supermarket until Asda acquired this branch back in 2005, when the Co-op decided to pull out of larger store formats and concentrate on smaller convenience stores.For its size, it has a decent range of products, with a good selection of fresh food items, including an in-store bakery and fresh fruit and vegetables, with decent use by dates at a good and high quality standard. There is also an exceptionally high standard with regards to customer service and employees on the shop floor are nice, helpful and friendly. The actual sales floor is spotlessly clean and tidy, and far better than the likes of Tesco. And, even trawler men use this store for supplies before they go out to sea.Asda actually have obtained planning permission to demolish and rebuild this store with a larger sales area, they haven't done so yet. The store does need to be replaced because the building and the exterior looks outdated. And, as stated above, the store was built by, and for the Co-op back in the 1980s.Whenever I am in the area I pop into this branch. Even though there are much larger Asda stores in Aberdeenshire. It is very much a community minded store that engages with people and plays an important and active role with regards to fundraising for local charities within the immediate vicinity.There is one criticism that I would say about this branch. The petrol station is too small, it used to be manned with a kiosk. It was demolished and replaced with a fully automated pay at pump by credit/debit card only facility. I like to have a choice of whether I want to pay for fuel by cash or card.

I visited asdas on Friday 14th April at 11am and proceded to the self service checkout after filling my basket .As so often happens an error occurred after scanning my first item I waited for an assistant to assist but after a few minutes still noone came over I approached an assistant for help but she responded that she was busy and asked if I was in a hurry.Yes I responded as I was only for her to offer me her security tag to clear the error myself.Its not my job to do this and I told her so The assistant seemed in no hurry to deal with me so I decided to leave my shopping and exit the store as I was in a hurry Shop service is very poor and often people are waiting ages with no assistants in sight Very unhappy with poor customer service.

Some items are never in stock for weeks. Very basic range of groceries compared to other Asda stores and competitors. Be very careful of use-by dates on all products and fresh produce when shopping. Reduced price produce section is an absolute joke, there is only a fraction of a difference in price from food being sold on use by day compared to food with days of shelf life left.

two orders for delivery desperately needed, only 3 mins away from the store never delivered. have phoned, been on line chat, phoned local store but no answer from there either. what is going on????

Great store for all your groceries and usually cheaper than the other big supermarkets.Doesn't close until 10pm which is great to do some late shopping when not many people in the store.Staff are friendly and helpful.

Compared to others it is small, you can get most things however including a decent clothing range. There is two collection points, well placed disabled and parent parking. Self service petrol station. Self check out stations do leave room for improvement for social distancing and can get a little crowded.

self serve etcthe main tills are closing earlier and earlier last night was 9 o'clock. this is not providing a service for the customer merely saving money by cutting a job. Last night I was offered a self scan when I turned up with a trolley of goods! there is simply not enough room! Morrison's self scan is a complete checkout are you having a laugh! I refused point blank and the very helpful staff processed the shopping for me. Well I wasn't going to! as it is not my job! it is ASDA's job to serve me and take my money for the privilege. Also how on earth is the Peterhead store going to cope at Christmas? well I know..its called TESCO Delivery that's how. The store couldn't cope before refurbishment and now with less checkouts it has no hope!Yes it is better laid out has more choice...but less tills to process customers! which village is missing its idiot!!

Local Supermarket, reasonable size with clothes, electrical, coffee shop and petrol station.Recently refurbished and provides shop and scan as well as click and collect. Self scan and shop and scan poorly staffed, usually one person between both departments, leading to delays in getting age restricted items authorised or security checks completed.Poorly maintained car park, little or no enforcement of drop off or parent and child zones.See photos re potholes on main access road to car park. This puts me off shopping at ASDA even though it is my preferred brand.

Always crowded and extremely slow serving staff,very unsure of them selfs and their job's. Prefer Morrison's for a better quicker experience and they have a car wash.
