Nice comfortable rooms, immediately across the street from Kings Cross. Perfect for an early morning Eurostar!The best part is the warm and cheerful hospitality from Adam at the front desk. Highly recommend!

Very nice little hotel, a bit quirky but very convenient to St Pancreas/Kings Cross and reasonably priced for central London. Staff was without exception wonderful. Would definitely stay again.

Great little hotel. Had an excellent stay. I had a double room and found it spacious, clean, comfy and stylish (with a very cool bathroom). Reception were friendly and helpful, lounge area was great for hanging out. Proximity to the station is a big score if you’re heading in or out of KX/St P but also for travel into the city. Definitely would recommend it.

Great hotel, staff friendly and really helpful. Very relaxed atmosphere, nice bar and terrace area. Great location, and lovely community feel as working with other businesses on that road for breakfast. We would stay here with our young children.

The California Hotel
This hotel is conveniently located to King’s Cross, which is a main hub for the Underground. It does not have air conditioning which is not ideal, especially in the summer. We asked for a fan and they did provide one (although they should already be in all the rooms because it’s scorching inside). It’s tight quarters in the twin rooms, hardly any room for suitcases, let alone a place to rest other than your bed. They only provide one towel per guest, which seems stingy. You have to ask for additional and then they take your room number as if you’re going to steal them. Our TV in our room didn’t work, but we didn’t complain since we weren’t going to be in the room much, but it would have been nice to have winding-down in the evenings. Shower also leaked terribly, which was hard to clean up since they were stingy with the towels. All and all not that bad of a hotel, just a few minor annoyances. Would probably consider one of the other hotel options near by based on this experience.

Great location for Kings Cross. I stayed here for one night for work. The hotel is pretty basic, but everything was clean and well presented. My Twin room wasn't spacious, but it did the job. Minor frustration was the lack of towel hanging pegs in the shower room.

This hotel is set in the perfect location literally on King’s Cross station doorstep, bars, restaurants etc.. the room smelt nice and clean for a basement room, could hear the subway below the building but not noisy enough to be annoying or keep you awake. The staff were super friendly and had smiles which always is a good sign of a nice environment in my opinion. Would stay again.

If you're just looking for a place to stay the night and not spend too much near Kings Cross, then this should suffice. The price was competitive but the room was nothing to write home about. The rooms are quite small and basic, could use an update but were clean. Barely enough space between the small beds to store our luggage, but again we weren't really staying in the room except to sleep and this was not unexpected.Unfortunately the information states they have air conditioning but that is not the case, the room was equipped with a small oscillating fan. It was a warm day when we stayed and we had to leave the window open but this was awkward as it overlooked the back patio and we lacked privacy. This might not be an issue in other seasons but made for an uncomfortable summer night stay.Staff was friendly and professional and I have no problems with the service they offered.If comfort is your concern maybe spend a little more and look elsewhere.
