Reception and ground floor is really nice until I got upto the second floor. Dirty carpets in the hallway with an unpleasant smell. Room felt like someone just left the room, probably housekeeping didn't do the job. Chair, carpet and curtains all have horrible stains and I had to ask for a change of room but the replacement was a disappointment as well. Tired and exhausted, I decided to get on with it.Desk staff is amazing, very helpful. I asked if they have a toothbrush and they provided one.

We stayed here on Saturday night OMG was the worst hotel we have stayed in the rooms were disgusting stains everywhere and the smell when we entered the room was not nice. The price that we paid for that night was expensive enough and expected a better quality of service all round but sadly not. This is 1 hotel we will not be back in.

Stayed here 14 October for a concert, Staff were friendly and helpful but the hotel definitely isn't 4 star. We eat in the restaurant, food was good, windows were just wiped with a damp cloth looked absolutely disgusting, rooms are outdated and not properly cleaned, seems like they just run around with a hoover. Bed seemed broken laying to one side, we included breakfast and it was like a buffet style, most of it was cold and we were down for it around 930 so we weren't late. We paid over the odds for the night as we knew the concert was in town but it definitely wasn't worth half of what we paid. Would not go back and stay if if I got it for nothing.... Very disappointed as I have stayed in a few raddisons before and they were very good.

As we arrived at the hotel it seemed like the usual Radisson standards - lovely reception area, kind staff and high quality furnishings. As we approached the desk and checked in it became clear the Radisson Blu hotel we had booked and paid for was now the ‘Gasworks’. As the lift doors of floor 2 were opened we weren’t greeted with an ice machine and great decor as expected - we were met with off white walls, filthy carpets and a smell of what can only be described as burning rubber. Our room was the first on the left; number 204. As we swung the door open we were really disappointed to see the high levels of staining on the carpet, what looked to be red wine, dirt, grime and even mud? The carpet told a story to a similar level to that of Gullivers travels!I went to plug my phone in to find my plug didn’t fit flush to the wall, not only was this a safety concern it looked awfully unsightly. The paint on the walls was scuffed, carpets filthy, skirting boards dirty, the wardrobe door was off its runner as well as greasy marks on the cabinet under the TV to which I’m still wondering what its use was?The room was cold, the bed was akin to a mountain range and the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The washing chord was black and mouldy, the shower head filled with lime scale and the bath hadn’t seen a bottle of bleach for a long time. During our three day stay we showered once out of necessity. The tea, coffee and sugars weren’t topped up enough and the furniture was scuffed and damaged. It was interesting to see that there was a floor marked ‘Radisson’ and when the lift opened it was clear to see it had been renewed unlike the majority of the hotel.I feel as though we were totally miss sold our hotel - We booked the Radisson as it’s a standard we are used to and wouldn’t have gone ahead with the stay should we have known the change of hands. I hope no one else falls for this trap.I would like to mention that the staff were kind and polite.

I am utterly disappointed with this place especially with the price you have to pay. The bathroom was a disgusting. The toilet did not flush and the flushing thing fell off. The toilet bowl had a stain that made it look like poop was constantly in the toilet. The shower heads were scarily dirty. The carpet was stained. The major highlight was a lady at the front desk who was kind. The rooms are not taken care of. It's really sad as this can really be a beautiful place if taken care of. But I am never returning.

Not my greatest experience- and I would never be too picky.. stayed with my boyfriend here last night. Booked a superior room which was pricy enough so was expecting luxury. The bed looked nice at the start but we soon realised after sleeping in it that it was two beds pushed together and the mattresses were sliding apart and very uncomfortable on the back! Very poor lighting in the room too.. no main light really at all. We went for dinner that night and it was terrible. I never complained as I said I would never be picky but I should have. I ordered a carbonara and it was like biting into a big bit of garlic, it was all garlic. Also to top it off I found a small fly… again should have complained for the price we ended up paying. Was very disappointed with the whole lot.. won’t be back unfortunately

We landed just before check in, we were told that our room (presidential suite) just needed to be Inspected so it should be ready for us shortly. We were happy to sit in the bar and have a drink while we waited for the lady to come and give us the keys. We booked the nicest" room as we were celebrating our anniversary. When we went up to our room the room looked like it wasn't hoovered

Actually I didn't stay in the room I just had one glass of red wine there in the lounge, and the feeling is very good because it's very quiet. when I entered the entrance de front office service was very nice guiding me to the restaurant. It offers lots of wine there so I just sit in a seat beside the window to see the outside view and had a very good night.

Desk staff was A++. Took amazing care of me. Hotel itself is great. Rooms were better than most in town. Large windows, very spacious. Dining room could use a bit more variety. Mattresses? Should be taken to a landfill. They felt like they were put there in the middle of last century: you will feel every last spring through the sheets.

The staff were very nice and friendly. We walked to the hotel from the train station, but the hotel failed to let us know in any correspondence that they had changed their name from the Radisson to the Gasworks which was confusing. If people are expected to pay extortionate hotel room prices (167 pounds for one night excl breakfast) then the hotel needs to up their game and match it with facilities you would expect for that money- our room had no hot water and the sink was blocked and wouldn't drain. Disappointing experience overall.
