Bought what i thought was a nice little run around for my wife, picked it up a few days later with its now new shiny 12month M.O.T certificate with no advisories, along with a nice shiny Pre Delivery Inspection Document also showing no faults or leaks and a nice shiny 6month warranty. Was told by the lovely trustworthy salesman on picking it up not to worry about the knocking sounds it was just the new wishbones that had been fitted settling in and it should be fine in about 200 miles or so.Checked over the vehicle myself a couple of days later to try and locate the terrible knocking sounds and make sure new wishbones had actually been fitted, straight away noticed the transmission leaking oil (no leaks reported in new shiny Pre Delivery Document, all boxes for leaks ticked as good).Took vehicle back to Argon as not happy with knocking sounds or leaking transmission and after a quick inspection was told the transmission leak was not covered under warranty as it was a major job to repair and would be sent back to somewhere to be inspected, i'd be given a full refund and as for the knocking they didn't have a clue what it was at that point even though they told me it was just the wishbones settling a few days earlier.Great i thought i have got off lightly with that, glad i did my own little inspection as that would be a very costly repair once out of warranty and happily took the car back late on a Friday afternoon exactly one week after i had picked it up for a full refund.Asked the lovely trustworthy salesman after i'd received my refund again what would now happen to the car and was told by the lovely trustworthy salesman it would be sent away to be inspected and somebody would make a decision what to do with the car.Well imagine my surprise when less than 48hrs later on a Sunday morning the very car i have just received a full refund on because a major job needs done on it and warranty won't cover it is now back on sale on their company website advertised exactly as when i previously bought it apart from it'll now cost you more to buy it.You can make up your own mind what to think about that.If you must buy a car from a second hand dealer that also does in house MOT's and inspections i would advise as soon as you pick it up take it to a different garage you trust (very hard i know) and have it put straight through another MOT and the car re-inspected, extra cost but more than likely worth it.The car in question is a white hyundai i10 Reg. No. NG12OFD.DO NOT BUY THIS CAR OF ANY LOVELY TRUSTWORTHY SALESMAN EITHER AT ARGON OR ANY DEALERSHIP UNLESS IT HAS PROOF OF TRANSMISSION LEAK FIXEDUpdate 1: since posting this review the car in question has now magically disappeared from their company website & facebook page which is a shame since they left a lovely post about my wife coming to buy the carUpdate 2: also since posting this review the comments have gone from 2 in a year to 3 5 star rated reviews in 48hrs. I'll leave you to make your mind up on the validity of these new reviews. ( yes i can count to 3 if you’re wondering, seems the lovely lady decided to take her lovely 5 star review down. That’s a shame really i thought it was a very good review hope all goes well for her, seems strange to go to the trouble of writing a 5 star review then taking it down)

I thought I would wait a few months to leave a review. My wife and I have now owned the car for 7 months and the performance of the car has been like the service we received from Ben. Faultless, thank you. We would not hesitate to recommend Argon Motor Company to others.

I keep forgetting to leave a review, but I bought a car from Argon about a year and a half ago. Couldn't be happier with it and the service they gave us. There was no hard sell at all, just gave us the information we needed. An issue cropped up with the car (it was intermittent so easy to miss in a service / MOT) and they sorted it out no problem. It has been running perfectly ever since.

Purchased a car from here for my mum. Fantastic service, very helpful and would recommend this car sales garage. Car fully serviced, full mot, 6 months warranty and they even touched up a couple of scratch marks on inside door panel.

Can’t praise this garage enough, after having major crash I was nervous and unsure of everything. Ben was wonderful, patient with me and my fear and my many questions, no pressure from him only friendly advice and help. Looked around a few garages but came back to Ben and Argon garage, purchased a great car at a great price with wonderful aftercare thrown in. If your looking for a car and want to deal with an honest person, go to Argon garage and ask for Ben. Can’t recommend them enough

Purchased my car in January 2023 I have left it a while as to ensure I have no issues, I am happy to say I got great service great communication and a great car. The staff was amazing I had to travel by train and they was more than happy to collect me in said car so I could test drive. There was also a small issue before I visited and got the car where a small piece of trim was smashed off, they rang and informed me before I travelled incase I wanted to leave it. I still travelled and bought the car, while o was there they ordered the part and sent it straight in to me as I did not want to travel again. My personal opinion is a straight up straight talking garage supplying good cars and genuine people I would use again and recommend.Thank you

I purchased a vehicle from Argon in February 2022. In the week before I collected the car it was MOT’d by Autocare Services (NE) Ltd next door to the Argon show room. It passed with a clean sheet - no advisories. Within a few days of taking delivery of the car I took it to an independent garage so they could inspect a suspected knock which I thought was from an exhaust bracket. It was at that point that the following was discovered; the exhaust system had 2 serious leaks. One in the back box (which had been welded many times in an attempt to repair it) and one in the centre section. Both front suspension arm bushes had perished and the offside was rubbing against the sub frame. The two rear tyres were worn to the legal limit. The bonnet does not close correctly on the offside due to the mechanism on that side being partly missing. The third brake light had several LED’s inoperative and the near side rear indicator had virtually no colour left and was on the verge of flashing white. I won’t go into the rust spots, body damage or paint defects as they are not potential MOT failures and I should have picked up on them myself with a closer inspection of the car. Out of the issues mentioned I believe the vehicle should have failed the MOT or at the very least there should have been a list of advisories. In fairness if this had been the case I would not have purchased the car or at least not at the advertised price. The online government MOT checker is a wonderful tool, however it is only as accurate as the information entered into it. Please be extra vigilant and be careful who you trust. In defence of the owner of Argon Car Sales, I did not go back to him with any of these issues even though I’m sure he was expecting me. All of my trust and confidence had been damaged and I did not want to put my car back into that system. To date I am a further £1750 out of pocket with at least an additional £1000 to go before I have full confidence in the car.In conclusion my experience has been a very poor and expensive one and I would not purchase another vehicle from this garage. Maybe my case Is the exception to the trend but this is my review.Note: I am not an MOT tester or a motor vehicle technician. My opinions are my own and based on my experience, 20 years of vehicle ownership, maintenance and research conducted online into other similar vehicles.
