The place is always clean (as can be at a fish and chips shop) and the service is fast. Nice and generous portions and very nicely packed in paper and so it keeps warm until you get home.The fries small portion was huge and the double portion is good for 3 ppl, it was lovely and tasty, the fish was ok, but we didn't finish the fish feeling Wow"

Once again West Howe fish and chips was EXCELLENT. So so fresh every single time, very generous portions and exceptional value for money. I've eaten several menu items including cod, haddock, (both battered and breaded), battered sausage and fishcake and everything has always been gorgeous. Definitely one of the best chippies I've had. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Much better than it used to be but food is never cooked to order always sat in the heater for ages to save time so the batter goes soggy. Nearest chippy to me and I've come to like the people so maybe bumped the score a bit. In fairness most chippys have no idea how to batter food properly

I went into the shop for Sausage and chips at lunch time. I paid the £5 but then noticed that there was a lunch time special for Sausage and chips for £3,95. I quizzed the chap who told me that I was having a battered Sausage which is why the price was £1,05 higher. Because I had already paid he could not change the price. I left the shop feeling conned. I normally use Chips Ahoy in Kinson......a far better shop with good old customer service.

Wish I could give a good honest review on the food .Wanted sausage and chips. Was told I couldn’t use card as it wasn’t £5 minimum spend on a card.I was delivering in the area and didn’t have any cash on me.Even burger bars in lay-bys take card payments for any amount£4.20 or £5 what’s the difference on bank charges ?And I didn’t want a can of overpriced pop

We only live half a mile from West Howe Fish and Chips, but this shop really does present lovely food. The fish is always beautifully cooked, and the portion of chips is plentiful. Can anyone get through a large chips on their own?! My favourite since a child has always been 'pea fritters' and West Howe's are the best - large, with lovely batter and moist peas inside. A good selection of takeaway food as well as drinks.

Staff looked miserable, to the stage I felt I had offended the lady serving me. Ordered a double cheeseburger, onions an extra 50p. This cost 4.80 so was told minimum spend on a card was £5. Annoying but happens so then I look for something extra, the menu was so jumbled I couldn't even find prices for extras so got a can. £6.06 now (wish I'd gone to the shop for the can now). Sauces? Got offered ketchup or mayo amd nothing else. So I waited, and waited. No recognition from the staff or update how longer, even after the 5-8 minutes they say food will take. Finally know its done when I see them chop half a raw onion to put ontop.... basically 10 minutes to cook two burgers and throw raw onion in. The burger was nice and whilst the price was high it was acceptable but the staff made me feel so unwelcome that I won't be back sadly
