The garden centre itself is great. It caters for just about everyone. However the prices are absolutely extortionate, especially for the plant seedlings. If you want grafted tomatoes and other vegetable plants at £4.50 each for starters, then this is the place to go. If you want organic stuff, go somewhere else to avoid disappointment.

This Homebase has gone right down hill. Place looks like it’s seen better days and only one member of staff on the till, bless her heart. Seemed like a lovely lady… other two members looked like they were taking it for granted that she was there, leaving the queue to escalate. Despite, the lady calling for staff to get on the other tolls over the tannoy.Poor show really.This Homebase used to be top banana, since it was taken over by an Australian company (so I hear) it’s never recovered and hit back to its former glory. Now owned by Hilco Capital… they need to pull their finger out.

I really don’t understand the concept of not being able to have wallpaper samples otherwise you’re just going to have a loss as no one would want to pay for a full roll in the hopes that the paper is what they want. And you can’t open the bought paper to put against your wall just to see for visuals and return if not what you expected as you’ve opened the seal. Homebase could’ve had a sale but now I’m avoiding as I don’t want to waste £30 on a full roll of wallpaper.

Staff are miserable and most dont actually speak and either grunt or point. Part of me understands why they are like it, the shop is like a furnace in this hot weather and quite honestly inhumane to have to work in those conditions. Can only be a matter of time before the place closes down.

Went here with a pocketful of money to buy plants at the garden centre. So disappointing. So many of the poor plants were really dry and in poor condition. Some were fine but the rest in a terrible state. It seemed like no one looked after the plant area at all. Such a waste of resources to grow plants that then have to be binned because no one looked after them. Homebase you need to employ someone who knows what they are doing to look after the plants.

Avoid at all cost . My mum ordered online some stuff for her bathroom renovation. Only few items were delivered, the rest my mum was chasing for 2 months. Also be aware! The delivery driver asked my mum if she had anyone to fit the tiles and offered her to do the job, unfortunately she agreed. Absolutely terrible work done!! Unbelievable ! We had to find another person to complete and fix everything properly . An absolute terrible experience !

This Homebase is 5min from me you could say it’s not great shop or service but I’m a carpenter and somehow I’m finding always some interesting and great stuff what you can’t find any builder merchants. On top of it my wife every spring brings garden to garden plants.
