This landmark is on a need to know basis. One needs to about the fort already because Moira keeps it a secret.

Childhood memories running around in the rough fort. Great place to walk the dog and run around with the kids.

A small enclosed space that is ideal for dog exercise.

I take my dog to the fort sometimes for walks, it could do with being with the grass being cut better and maintained on a more regular bases.

Reputed to be the site of an Iron Age farmstead, this consists of a central platform surrounded by two ditches and a bank. The outer ditch has been partially cut away by a housing development on one side and by a road on the other but the bank and inner ditch survive substantially intact.Although it is not apparent today this location is in fact the highest ground in the Moira area, and would have dominated the landscape in all directions for some considerable distance.I'm not sure if the site has ever been seriously excavated but, as far as I am aware it is scheduled so diggers and detectorists should take note.The presence of this suggests Moira as being one of the oldest continuously inhabited locations in Ireland..

Old Celtic ring fort that is accessible to the public. Small piece of land, no car park.

Well maintained, lovely to visit, but would have been better if there was an information board on the history of the fort, we googled some information instead.
