Had a great meal here to celebrate my Daughters Birthday. As always the food was first class. The owners had gone the extra mile and hung a happy birthday banner over our table. Have had several meals here, and never been disappointed. Nice and warm, comfortable restaurant.

We booked a table for three 2 day's in advance for 19.00pm when we arrived there was no booking and we were offered a place in the bar not wanted as our guest had travelled 168 miles and we were looking forward to a lovely meal. We had a record of the day and time on my phone but the message we received back was no apology but that we should have accepted the offer of the bar not the same. They could have been more sincere and offered a drink if we rebooked or something.

We came for a meal and didn't stay. There were six of us for Sunday lunch, they offer a traditional roast, with either beef, lamb or chicken, they also offer a nut roast which my wife said was delicious. I had a mixed meat roast. All the ingredients were really good quality and the food was cooked to perfection. Although, it was busy, the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely well worth a visit.

Excellent lunch, great beer (I had Tribute - others were available,) comfortable, clean spacious dining room with a separate bar, equally good. The food was good pub food- really tasty and fresh (salad, coleslaw, fresh chips and a delicious omelette), delivered really quite quickly despite there being quite a number of already seated customers. It didn’t try to be a restaurant and we had a lovely lunch. Staff were really polite, personable and efficient. A lovely visit. Thank you. Oh it wasn’t over expensive either. (Though would never admit it)

We only visited to eat, not stay.Food was excellent, the menu was interesting and good value.The only disappointment was being seated in the room furthest from the bar and nearest the kitchen. It meant the ambience was lacking.In addition, it was obvious that my sister has mobility issues as she had crutches,so taking us to a table furthest from the door was not helpful. There were plenty of empty tables elsewhere.Despite the above comment we would still visit the Stag Head Inn again.

Beautiful old pub, easy to find and accessible. Lovely warm welcome, great service throughout our visit. We were a luncheon club of about 20 people but that didn't seem to phase anybody.We agreed that the portions were small but all tasted good. Would visit again
