Fantastic food, and even more fantastic service. I went here recently with some friends on a Wednesday night and our server - Rhys - was amazing. Really bubbly, friendly and professional; and it was obvious that he loved his job! He went above and beyond to make sure we were all enjoying our evening, and I can confirm that none of us had ever had such brilliant service before. Rhys - I hope your manager reads this and gives you an extra large Christmas bonus. You really made our evening!

This place is a little put of the way, but as with all Toby's, it is worth a visit.The service is prompt and friendly, and the only challenge is how much you can get on your plate before things start to fall off.The value is good, the quality and quantity are excellent, and the mid week deals are not to be missed.

Food is and always has been beautiful. However the last two times we have been there service has been atrocious.Seated near the bar.First time A party of 3 placed on a table for 2, our plates/ drinks barely fitted. There were others (party of 2 places on tables for 4). The gent serving was at the carvery using foul language and when a plate smashed he walked off in anger and left us standing there an extra 15 mins.Second and most recent 2nd of December we were again placed at the bar end on a table for two. We spent 35mins waiting at the carvery, not because it was busy but once again, same man/server went off in a huff for 20mins after openly arguing with another staff member. By the time we got back other people were placed at our table. We tried to re-seat ourselves to another table (table for 6) and we were told by the bar man we couldn't sit there as 1 man was seated there. After explaining, we were told off saying we should have pre paid for our food and told the bar man where we wanted to be seated even after the waitress had already seated us and we informed her we were having carvery. By the time they found us another table for 2 and chairs, made us go to the bar and pay for the food before we sat down to eat our food which was now stone cold and we watched the 1 man return to his table for 6. I was also made to feel very embarrassed and small as where I was seated I had a clear view of the bar and the barman was openly ranting about the stupid customers who didn't know what to do and caused them an inconvenience. Arms flailing around while explaining to the other two, very rude!I was so disappointed even my partner said he did not want to go there again as despite the food being highest quality the service and atmosphere the last 2 times were just awful and really ruined the experience/ meal. We just felt eager to eat and runOn the flip side every time I have been with my mum/ aunts etc the service was excellent. It's hard not to think there is some bias/ lack of respect etc going on because we are not of a certain age.

I was served by Jess who was super attentive, smiley and happy, checking back every so often and clearing my plates swiftly. I went with the 3 course menu and the food was amazing and tasty, the roast beef was tender and the gravy was amazing. Just what I needed on a cold autumn night. The restaurant was clean and had a good atmosphere. A great all round experience. Thanks team.

First time coming to this location, however very polite and friendly staff, treat you very well like a high class restaurant. The food was very nice, food of choice was the carvery, the meat was delicious, melt in the mouth. However whether it was because the heat lamps were too high, or the sides had been left there too long, items like the mash potato and veg were slightly dry, and the mash didn't appear to have been mashed 100% but for those who like the dry crumbly type mash it was very nice..The atmosphere was very chilled and relaxed, with a gentle cool breeze from the air con. Definitely one I'd visit again if I was in the area, but not the beat I've been to

Had the Festive Lunch Menu today. Good value. Slight delays at carvery as vegetables were replenished. Good choice of hot vegetables. Friendly and efficient service by staff waiting on tables.

We visited Toby Carvery for dinner with my in-laws.As always we had a great greeting and we're promptly seated.The staff were all very quick and very friendly, the food was amazing and it was very busy to be fair.Excellent all round and we all enjoyed our meal!

The service from the waitress was fine, but the food today let everyone else down. Food was over cooked ..dry, tasteless, there was no gravy available so had to wait for someone to actually bring some gravy after trying to get someone's attention twice after I got ignored the first time. The slices of beef they carved for me was full of fat.. mash potato was awful lumpy, my five year old even said the mash potato was horrible and refused to eat it. All in all it was a complete waste of my money, eat very little of my carvey. Just paid the bill and left disappointed

The food was delicious as usual. It was very busy due the special offer. Our only complaint is that we were sat in the conservatory on a very hot day. There were no curtains to shield us from the sun and the windows didnt open. In the end we had to change tables. Waiter was excellent.
