Practical Car & Van Rental

Needed a van fast so booked online at the weekend, had no confirmation ad they do not work at the weekend. So I made sure I was there first thing on Monday morning. Guy at the desk was very helpful. I had all my paperwork I did need it so I was on my way in no time!

The staff were incredible professional and accommodating, they went through everything clearly. The walk around the van before leaving was the best i have ever experienced from any rental company have no fear renting from them. Excellent service and experience.

Best price we could find locally, no issues with the rental. However on returning the I was charged £50 for a scuff on a plastic bumper that was barely visible to the naked eye. I guess this is how Practical actually make any money, because they're not repairing any of this damage" based on the state of the rest of the van!"

We needed a van quite quickly put in a enquiry got a reply very quickly didn't have the van we needed for the day we requested so offered another van.Ended up requesting another day where the other van was available. Very happy to help. Whole process very quick and easy from collection to drop off. Reasonably priced much cheaper than other quotes we were getting. Would definitely recommend. Harry on site was very helpful and explained everything in detail.

Not impressed at all, van in really poor condition, dirty, front tires really bad, window controls not working, radio controls not working, Did not feel safe for a 7 hours journey. Just 1 van available on site.

Pretty much seamless experience. We had done the check in less than 10 minutes, than a short wait till they prepare the car.The car seemed to be in fairly good condition, yes it has marks and scratches but it is a van...As for the return, well, it went very smoothly, I brought the car, it has been checked and that's it. 5 minutes and I am free to go.Great customer service and brilliant value for the money.

Excellent experience from start to finish - the Luton I hired was swept clean and the cabin clean also. The particulars of the van were clearly explained, especially the operation of the tail lift. Drove to Cornwall and back in one day without any problems at all. The return was equally easy, and the staff were most courteous at all times. I will definitely recommend this company to anyone.

Excellent service from the guy who served me. Genuine, nice, wanted to help as much as he could and worked with me when I had some issues. Showed me around the whole van (which was practically new (pun not intended)) and allowed me to take pictures etc. Van drove well without issues, will definately use them in the future.

Where do I even start. Rude behaviour of the owner first. Secondly renting a dodgy van with known problems and not following any business guidelines covid or otherwise We rented a van which was dirty messy and did not and they jumpstarted it to get it going. Less than 30 miles the fuel indicator guage stopped working and went straight to zero from full and service light came on. When we reached our place of appointment and after loading up the van it refused to start and we had to call recovery Services to get us back on the road. All this was reported to them as it happened. This got us(myself, my wife and my child) 4 hours later home at midnight not to mention the inconvenience, stress and anxiety it all caused. we did not take any break on our way back even for a wee for fear it may not start again and we would be stranded in the middle of nowhere with a kid onboard.And next day when you go to return the van forget the apologies or humble behaviour. This man when challenged for his unfair business practice tried to, hide the evidence and even tried to run me over with his van. We had to really stand our ground and point his dodgy business practice to finally coax an apology and the refund out of him. I wish to write my experience so that others can take heed from it.

Top service last minute call to Harry he had everything ready for a smooth rental the next day. Nice brand new Luton tail lift van. Very helpful nothing was a problem. Will definitely be going back to see Harry next time I need a van from Practical.
