Impressive new building and museum telling a fascinating Anglo Saxon story.Main exhibit is a life size video" outlining the history of the area and it's people's.Worth a visit but unless you are doing the whisky distillery tour you probably won't need more than an about hour.(The complete lack of external signage throughout the town

Outstanding food and service!! I made reservations and we arrived a half hour early. They accommodated us with no problem. Friendly, professional and efficient wait staff. I ordered the lamb stew. Cooked perfectly and came plenty hot. Lots of veggies included - just a great lunch. My wife ordered a mushroom sandwich. It was delightful as well. Plenty of food to fill out appetite.

Superb and distinctive distillery.Gift shop Is not that remarkable , cafe bistro on par with others I have visited- Serving nice coffee .Did not undertake the tour .Have marked this distillery “Three stars” as when entering the car park there are car parking ticket machines ( as yet to be commissioned). So it would now appear that guests are to be taxed for visiting Ad Gefrin .In the current economic climate, you have to ask yourself how much more companies in the UK are prepared to squeeze out of their guests . Disappointing.

Great place for a wet afternoon. The restaurant was lovely- good food, excellent staff in a fantastic new space. The museum was small but very interesting. We didn’t do the distillery tour but it is on our list for next time! You can just pop into the restaurant without buying a museum ticket, though they advise booking if you’re going on a Sunday.

Wonderfully informative tour around the distillery with friendly and accommodating staff. The museum is small but beautiful and very enjoyable. We had a tasting session which was brilliant! Something for everyone and plenty of time to enjoy it so we didn't feel rushed.Unfortunately the bistro was only open for lunch service but we returned the next day to try it and were very glad we did- reasonable prices/portion sizes and delicious food! Only wish we had been able to take the family for dinner as well.

One of the leading attractions in Northumberland, so pleasing as a local to see such enthusiasm and effort put into what is essentially a long term project. The distillery tour with Isla was fantastic and informative with all aspects of the process and history covered. Guides could do with a microphone though as some points we couldn't hear very well due to the nature of the machinery around us. Constructive criticism though as the content was great. The museum part isn't as overwhelming though and I guess (like the whiskey) is in the early stages of developing and not the main focus of the buildings. Some very interesting Anglo Saxon artifacts and interactive displays though! We had a tasting session as part of the tour with two lads, both were great but only caught Alex name. Very well presented and knowledgeable guys. The room was a little hot though for all including them and they had to prop the door open, again, it didn't distract from the experience though. The cafe / restaurant was just stunning, even if your not into whiskey it's worth a visit. Decently priced meals and menus with some wonderful cocktails and local coffee. Sofia was a fantastic host. We'll be back for afternoon tea!Unfortunately I didn't get the lady's name when we entered the distillery but she was very pleasant and welcoming! Please go visit this place to support the local economy. There's something for all!

Wonderful building, friendly staff. The museum alone is a worthwhile visit to discover some of the local history through stories, artefacts and a wonderful real life/projection great hall. Didn't get to try food but the 1st whisky expression is a great dram and the shop is full of local and regional goodies. Not quite 4 stars because they are not dog friendly (in spite of lots of dog related toys and books in the shop),Didn't go on the tour but if as much thought has been put into that as the rest of it then no doubt it'll be great.

Lovely bistro - one of the best veggie burgers ever: the little museum is good and the ‘great hall’ display quality stuff: and the whisky is worth crossing the street for too. Overall a very classy place
