Not a religious chap but find these kind of churches very peaceful and tranquil. Open during the day so was able to just sit and ....be !

St. Lawrence C of E Church is a wonder full Normand Church located in Effingham in the heart of the beautiful Surrey country side. My Parents and grand Parents and my Brother are at rest in the well grave yard. So I try to go there to pray as often as I can.

Beautiful old village church dating back to the 13th century. Pivotal point for village activities. The famous scientist and aircraft designer Barnes Wallace is buried in the churchyard. Well worth a wander round.

St Lawrence's Church
This is the proud old church of an ancient Surrey village, there before the railway turned up and changed everything. However, the expansion of the local gene pool wasn't accompanied by swamping suburbia in this case (unlike its neighbours) and the old village survives. Worth a visit, but don't try and get here via the train station -it's nowhere near. Church is kept open.
