Hillview Cottage Bed and Breakfast

Very friendly owner, great food, best sleep I've had in years and lovely and quiet.out in the middle of nowhere away from everything and everyone and me and my girlfriend had a great night, will definitely be back.

Avoid like the plague.We booked a double bedroom in June 2023 and stayed for about 10 minutes before leaving.On first impression, we were shocked by how untidy and dirty the house was. While we weren’t expecting luxury for the amount we were paying, the bedsheets and surfaces were dusty and the house covered with cobwebs and clutter.The host gave us the wrong room before giving our room (which was slightly cheaper) to another couple who checked in just after us. He then informed us that we would need to pay extra for the “room upgrade” that we didn’t ask for nor need.Upon request the host gave us the WiFi password however when I queried him on why it wasn’t working he informed us that the network was down in the entire region. Once we checked into our new accommodation we found that this was untrue. WiFi was important to us as we needed to contact our family in Australia.The host made us both feel very uncomfortable and we are grateful that we found a lovely room at the Crieff Hydro. In hindsight we wish we had read some of the other reviews online which validated our experience regarding the cleanliness and overall vibe of the host. In our opinion, Hillview is substandard and should not be open to the public.

My wife Sandra and I stayed here on the 10th Aug and we found Jon was very helpful and the rooms where very clean and comfortable would recommended this B & B to anyone visiting the local area keep up the good work Jon

Definitely the worst accommodation I’ve ever seen. Too awful to contemplate staying. The house is dilapidated, dirty and untidy. The owner is very very strange and asked us to change rooms 5 minutes after we arrived then advised us that we would be charged extra!!!! We felt threatened and unsafe and left. He should not be able to operate. It is absolutely disgusting. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

The cottage was really nice. It is a really homey and cozy place. Jon, the owner, was really friendly and accommodating. It's really close to the Drummond safari park too although you still need to get a cab to go there because there are no safe paved paths along the main road. I would recommend this place to everyone instead of staying in a hotel.

Had a great stay here for 2 nights the room was very cosy and the best shower I’ve had in a long time, Jon was very friendly and very interesting to talk to, he has lots of interesting things collected from travels decorating the cottage which you wouldn’t get staying any where else. The breakfast was absolutely delicious cooked to perfection. And to top it off he brought out some of his sausage dogs to meet as we had a bit of time to kill which made my day. Will most definitely stay here again in the future.

Disappointing experiance . We feel like living in detention centre. I will never recommend any one .The host was polite though. We arrived at 8 pm and we were told that if were 10 min late i would have locked the door.There were other little payty things but dont want to mention .overall will never ever stay.
