Redwell Fisheries

Had a lovely week here. The site is dog friendly. The lake is tidy and well presented. Fishing was a bit moody. But the temperature was high, you could see the larger fish cruising on the surface. You could catch the small silver fish all day. Take some fly repellent. We were in the apartment, which was very nice, clean and tidy. With everything you need. Bed was a little hard, and you could hear upstairs. Location is great for travelling to see sites. Very relaxing holiday. I would return.

I have just stayed in Mallard Lodge for 3 nights with my fiancee. The lodge was cosy, inviting, well maintained and equipped with everything you needed from a dishwasher to a washing machine, bed was really comfy and the views from the floor to ceiling windows at the front of the lodge of the lake and trees were picturesque, especially in the autumn!The lodge had privacy and wasn't located to near the other two neighbouring lodges. Enough room to park the car, nice balcony to dine outside on and the hot tub was a taste of luxury, 28 jets, 3 settings for varying power of jets and secluded and sheilded from any wind by being set into a hill.Owners seemed like helpful and friendly people. With supermarkets and takeaways and restaurants a short drive away, Redwell Lake Lodges was an idyllic remote getaway for us, thank you!

Wish I could give this no stars. Arrived for 5 days and left after 5 minutes. Went to reception and old man appeared , was very grumpy and in a rush to leave for an appointment. Reluctantly came to pitch to put electricity card into meter. When asked about paying was very abrupt in his manner.Visited last year and found him the same but decided to give the place another go. Wish we hadn't bothered now..Whole place needs maintaining better.Will never return.Other reviewers found him grumpy and unhelpful and they will not return either

We stayed at the Mallard Lodge the location is beautiful but the cleaning of the place leaves a lot to be desired we moved the sofa to retrieve my earring and it was full of hair and dust the bathrooms were not very clean and the dishwasher was unusable it stank. The problem is on arrival you get a long list of all the charges you will have to pay if leave any mess but i think the owners should be making sure that the cleaning is done to a good standard first.

Had a fantastic holiday with my wife and the got tub was amazing. Beautiful well kept lodge with a wonderful view of a lake in a wonderful central position. From here, we visited Gretna green, Blackpool, Manchester, carnforth, Windermere and some other small villages and towns from here, and nothing ever felt too far away! Additionally, the people who own / caretake for this fishery / holiday lodge facility are wonderful. It truly felt like a home away from home.

This is the king of the silly rules waters with more restrictions than you could shake a stick at. No paste? What's that all about? Run by the rudest man on the planet. I was once accused of not paying but it turned out that his bailiff was on the take. She had taken my money but not issued a ticket. I once arrived dead on 7.00 and knocked on the main house door to be greeted by an aggressive woman in a dressing gown. YES"
