Absolutely brilliant staff, accommodation great. They were so helpful and friendly, we had our cat with us, and they allowed her in our room. After a stressful day with the solicitors and estate agents, we could relax for the night.

A decent basic hotel room, quiet and clean, but the bed was too soft and neither my husband nor I slept well for two nights. However, we were impressed and very grateful to our helpful receptionist, Carol, who went out of her way to help us work out how to get to Cardiff on match day.

Let down badly by a noisy bed, which creaked if you looked at it. Could be excellent with a few changes; decent amenities nearby including a nearby restaurant and nice walks around Castle View and Caerphilly mountain.

On arrival the building looked like it could use a good clean. We were met at the reception desk to a very strong smell of BO. The room itself was clean, could have done with more tea and coffee. Was woken the next morning at 5am from the room above, sounded like a heard of elephants! We were then woken up a little later, when the fire alarm went off. Obviously someone can't read and left the door open whilst showering. Overall it was very expensive for just the room, we didn't buy breakfast, instead went across the road to Lidl.

Overall a really clean hotel in a great location off the beaten track a bit and friendly helpful staff, Lorraine was espically helpful. I would 100% stay here again. It also has a pub next door and aldi opposite which is always handy

Stayed here with my wife and 2 children. Upon arrival the receptionist told us that she wasn’t sure if our room was made up or not…errmm ok bare in mind check in was at 3pm and this was just after 4pm!!Once we got up to the room we opened the door and was greeted with a very strong smell of smoke which was so strong that even the open window didn’t clear it. The children’s beds were still packed under the double bed and there was no bedding on them just exposed dirty mattresses. Only 2 towels and pillows provided. I went back down to reception and she brought up bedding for the children’s beds…..which we had to fit ourselves! Overall not a great place to stay.

I was asked to wear shoe covers before going up stairs although my shoes weren't dirty. I've never been asked to wear shoe covers in any other hotels other than this one. The hotel in general was okay, just annoyed me when I was asked to wear shoe covers in a hotel. Not even Radisson Blu asks and it's higher class than travelodge. Other than that, it wasn't too bad.

Its a bit run down. The rooms are tired.And we stayed.for.2.days and our room was not.cleaned or tidied on the 1st night.I would use it again. But only because its cheaper than alternative accommodation.Overall the bed was comfy and the shower and room warm.Basic but adequate.
