NHSBT Birmingham Plasma Donor Centre

The new plasma donation centre is brilliant: purpose-built, bright and able to accommodate more donors than before. The staff in Birmingham are super friendly and efficient and make for a fantastic donation experience that leaves you more than happy to return for the next donation, which you can do every two weeks. The new screening booths offer more privacy to go over your health questionnaire, check your iron/haemoglobin levels with a quick finger prick test and to check your pulse are all within the safe ranges to donate. The staff always take care to double check the machines before the needle is inserted and make great effort to check on your well-being during the donation. The snacks and drinks on offer are great, the staff keep you well fed and hydrated. Unisex toilets are situated just behind the donation area that are very clean and well maintained. The entire experience of donating plasma is great and you can tell the staff also appreciate their new working environment. It is always a pleasure to see the staff here in Birmingham and I hope to stay fit and healthy enough to continue to do so in the future.
