Had a lovely breakfast here yesterday and was served by very friendly staff. Tasty coffee and delicious shortbread also. Our dogs loved their puppuchino's also. Would defo recommend and very reasonable prices.

Visited this place many times before and was always lovely to go with friends for coffee and cake with the dogs. I believe ownership has changed hands and seem all atmosphere has left the building.New menu is very small. Breakfast stops at 11.30.We ordered a chicken sandwich which was very basic on cheap bread. My mums cheese and ham toasty was barely toasted and again cheap bread. She ordered tea, was given a massive mug and tiny little teapot that didn't even fill the cup.Choice of cakes was greatly reduced. There seems to be less tables as well. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was loads of space where as before it was always busy. I think it's changed to the detriment of the cafe as I'm not particularly keen to go back which is a shame as it's so close to my house.

Went here as heard it's a dog friendly café. It is! Staff were all great and nice to sit indoors for some hot lunch with the dog.

The David Livingstone Birthplace has captured my heart with its enchanting setting by the river and easy access to scenic woods. It's a true gem that offers an incredible walking experience and showcases stunning gardens that are an absolute delight to explore. But let me tell you, the real showstopper for me is the charming café. Not only is it nestled in a picturesque spot, but it also boasts a kid-friendly menu that's a big hit with my children. Every visit is a guaranteed joy for them, and I can't help but appreciate the welcoming staff and the fantastic food they serve up.One thing I truly admire is their commitment to constantly improving the garden and playground areas. It's a testament to their dedication to creating a space that's not just static, but evolving and exciting. And let's not forget the seasonal events they organize, especially for the little ones during summer, Easter, and more. The David Livingstone Birthplace transforms into a hub of activity, catering to various interests and gatherings throughout the year. While I haven't had the chance to explore the museum just yet – it was temporarily closed for refurbishing – I'm eagerly awaiting its reopening. With the overall experience being this exceptional, I have no doubt that the museum will be just as remarkable. In a nutshell, the David Livingstone Birthplace comes with my wholehearted recommendation. It's a place where nature, history, and hospitality come together to create an unforgettable experience. Five stars, no doubt!

Arrived at 1pm was seated very quickly and ordered within five minutes, place was clean and organized. Cafe was reasonable busy and well staffed for size of business, however mostly sandwiches/Ciabatta/baked potatos, good selection of fillings though, could do with few more options on specials however. Good selection of drinks hot and cold and selection of cakes.Service was reasonably quick for lunch time service and waitress was pleasant. Chicken mayo toastie was delicious as was side salad. Cupcake was delicious. All was reasonable for price and well definitely be back again soon.

I popped into the Livingston cafe for a light bite, after walking part of the Clyde walkway. It's lovely and bright, friendly service. Good selection of dishes on the menu for a wee place.Keep up the good work.

After being here numerous times previously I was shocked with my experience today. The stinking attitude of the person who served me when asking for basic things like sauce etc. was unnecessary and got even worse after receiving an undercooked breakfast. I use to love this place but will never be back again after my experience today.
