I have waited a while to post this review in order to make sure i am being objective and not let my upset impair my judgement.I am sure they can do good work but you should be aware that if,(as in my case), they break your item whilst trying to repair it and they cannot find a solution, they will offer you commisurations but nothing else. They have no insurance(so i was told) to replace something they have broken beyond repair and will simply hand the broken item back to you as a doorstop. I would have expected any reputable repair firm to have some insurance should the worst happen and think it is wrong that they are happy to take the reward when things go well but cannot offer any compensation when they don't,allowing the customer to take all the risk.

Very bad experience with this shop. I shipped internationally as they told me they could repair a lens. Once they received it, they realized they could not. Very poor communication and prior analysis of the case. Then, problems arise again when I try to take my lens back. They made me pay the shipment, and then nothing. Silence, no more reply. It seems they are crooks going to keep the money.

Sent my Olympus OM1n in for repair and CLA and was very satisfied with the service! I was on the fence about sending it in initially, as buying another used body would have been cheaper, but knowing that the camera you get back will last for years to come is something well worth spending the money on - especially as affordable vintage cameras become harder and harder to find in good condition. The whole process took around 12 days total including postage back to me (via RM special delivery, camera was packed very well too!) which is not too long at all. Would definitely recommend!

It's difficult to star rate my experience. 3 nice guys were working there. I had an SD card stuck in my camcorder. They said the camera would need stripping down completely and they wouldn't attempt to repair the SD card. This would cost £125.00 + VAT. I left the camera with them overnight...but decided to pick it up the next morning and run a few tests (using YouTube tutorials) by myself. I removed the SD card in under 5 seconds. The SD card was undamaged as was the camera's card reader. No repair was needed. But the guys seemed nice.

Like most people, I don't need or use a Camera Repairer all that often, and I've used a couple of different companies before now. I've not used the Liverpool based Newton Ellis & Co Ltd before as it's a bit out of my neck of the woods but since it's possible to both collect from them as well have them post items back I thought I'd give them a go as they seem to almost specialize in older film cameras from the 80's, 70's or even 60's which in some photographic circles are considered 'collectables only' - not for actual use (which is surely not true).I posted my Nikon FE film camera to the firm basically for a 'full service' and this was undertaken by one of their technicians in a turnaround time of about 3 weeks. The camera was returned to me nicely and securely packed and sent my Royal Mail Special Delivery, and it arrived back safely an in a good, renewed condition.I would probably use the company again. If you use them though, please be aware that from my own experience of them, 'communication' and good old-fashioned 'customer service' are probably not their strong points (which is a pity), as I would have liked some sort of confirmation that they had not only received the camera I'd posted to them but also confirmation of when it had been posted back to me. I basically had to call them a week or so after posting it to them, just to confirm that it had arrived, and although I was actually advised with a phone call that my camera had been serviced and was ready to be returned and what the payment due amount was for the work carried out on the camera (which I paid online that same day), I had to chase it up almost a week later later as I'd still not received it (and it hadn't at that point for some reason, even been posted).

First class service. Possibly not fastest but all repairs are carried out to a very high standard (worth the wait). You can certainly trust them with your equipment. I will be heading back in the future if necessary.I'd definitely recommend Newton Ellis & Co to anyone needing camera repairs or services.

A good experience. One person in the shop at a time and masks must be worn which is good advice as it's an extremely tiny shop. Although they couldn't fix my lens they did examine it and gave me good advice at no charge. Would recommend.

Outstanding and speedy service. I dropped off my Rolleiflex at the shop for a minor repair and CLA. It was returned to me via the post - well packaged and on time. They even replaced a missing part. We need to support those with film camera repair skills. Highly recommended.

Our go-to. Wouldn't even think of going anywhere else. Top quality repairs to DSLR bodies and lenses, great communication through-out, reasonable prices and good guarantees.
