Luvly place people I worked on there hung loads of doors etc still good today as I left them , bought chocolate from the shop got good advice about problems that were on my mind for years can you get better than this ? Maybe in heaven god knows best ! Miss the peacocks I used to feed off my sandwich s still seen one on the way back so I'didnt miss out after all !

The convent Chapel is stunning. The holiday lodges are lovely. A friendly squirrel had a snooze on my balcony!

5 stars for the gentle welcome! The sisters belong to an enclosed Benedictine order meaning they do not seek contact with the outside world. However if the world seeks them they will welcome you. The architecturally significant convent buildings are as eco friendly as possible and the oak and copper cladding is now maturing gently to blend in with the countryside. There are a number of chalets in the grounds, the Crieff Lodges, which can be rented for a quiet stay in wonderful countryside. Respectful attendance at some services is possible by prior arrangement.

Wonderful place but the Google Description is very misleading. The Sisters from Stanbrook Abbey in Worcester sold up and moved north to this beautiful site near Wass in North Yorks, not far from Ampleforth Abbey. Superb modern architecture- neither Pugin was ever here!
