Lovely walks, different gradients and lots to see. Toilets, cafe, rspb gift shop and a great obstacle course for the young ones to try! Great in November for spotting mushrooms too.

We went to Sandy in Bedfordshire as it was close to Welwyn Garden City where we were staying. Having got there we decided to get car parking. Having said that there was a woman who was taking subscriptions to the RSPB therefore we bought one each. The walks were good and we walked about a mile and a half. We did not see many birds due to the time of year and it was pretty cloudy. We went on the woodpecker walk but did not see any woodpeckers.

Good selection of walks and great ambience with the Heathland and old trees. Quiet for birds,as expected, but the garden at The Lodge is brilliant for wildlife. Plenty of good old fashioned plants with the resultant insects and not too tidy. A lesson for anyone wishing to have a go at a proper wildlife garden.

Great place to have a walk in the countryside and listen to the birds- choice of walks, small cafe and toilets on site + RSPB shop to buy all your bird supplies. Also small garden round the RSPB offices.

Beautiful setting with a lovely cafe. Small grumble would be its very difficult to locate the start of a trail from the Information office. Even with the map on the window, it was impossible to know which way to go. The trails are signposted once on them, but starting points should be better signposted. In addition, I'm sure they have their reasons, £6 parking is pretty steep for what will likely be a max stay of 2-3hours.

Absolutely wonderful trails to explore. Excellent new cafe. Friendly staff. RSPB station wasn't open which was a disappointment as we visited twice in a week. Cafe very dog friendly and dogs welcome on the Bridle tracks and the fabulous Skylark walk, suggested by cafe staff. Wonderful 2 visits.

A great place to explore nature and go for short and long walks! Depending on your walking/hiking experience there are easy walks up to hilly uneven hikes. Spot lots of birds, snakes, insects, ponies, and other fun friends!

Nice place for a walk, pity there is hardly any wildlife! Hardly saw any birds, butterflies or dragonflies. Maybe because it was a little windy, or maybe just wrong time of year. Also, what has happened to the birdwatching hide near the 2 ponds?I did the 2 longest trails and covered just over 10km so about 6 miles so a good way to spend 3 to 4 hours.Car park is free to RSPB members, or £6 for non members.
