Martial Arts Burton Black Belt Academy

The instructors at this academy are nothing short of amazing! They are all highly qualified and have a genuine love for working with kids. My 4-year-old daughter has only been attending classes for a short while, but she is already having a blast and learning so much. I highly recommend this academy to anyone looking for a fun and educational experience for their child. Thank you for providing such a fantastic learning environment!

We are 3 weeks in to our journey and so far it has been a brilliant experience for our 9 year old. From an encouraging and knowledgeable introductory session with Master Fern to regular lessons each week, the instructors and facilities are top notch and it is great to see the progress being made. The flexibility with lessons (there are 4 sessions each week that are available to choose from) together with ease of booking through the app is great. It means we can make sure he gets 2 lessons a week, with flexibility around family events / other commitments which is really helpful. Most importantly, he loves the lessons, is excited and motivated - can't ask for much more!

So I joined up to kickboxing.. 20th of September. Shihan dean fern welcomed me with open arms. We went for my 1-2-1 session so he could explain to me everything I needed to know (the most informative 1-2-1 I’ve ever had). The instructors (Marc & Aaron) that teach are amazing, yes we have banter and a laugh but there’s also a learning side aswell. You have to have a laugh or it wouldn’t be enjoyable. I look forward to ever session since and will look forward to future lessons in due course. Since joining, it’s already had a positive effect on my brain already! Mentally and physically. You are having fun while learning.I hightly recommend anyone to join, bored at home with nothing to do? Come down and have a crack to see what it’s all about. I was hesitant at first but now I love it! My aim is to be world champion kick boxer and I started in my home town of burton on trent with shihan dean fern.

From the day we contacted Martial Arts Burton we have had the best experience. The taster session was a brilliant way to introduce my son to the classes and show him round the dojo so he would feel confident arriving to his first class. So to cover everything we have experienced:Business set up: I love the way they help your children (and adults) with their independence and build respect. There are rules to follow that are clearly laid out as part of the dojo etiquette.Powerful words each month which builds a great positive mental attitude (this is one of the things that attracted me to Martial Arts Burton).There is an app where you can book classes, practice training with the videos available and also review upcoming events/schedules.The Dojo: The studios are kept clean and tidy with changing facilities available. They are a pleasure to train in.Equipment provided so you don’t have to go buying loads of additional things.Staff: Every member of staff takes their time to welcome you and chat to you (how they remember everyone I have no idea!).They all have years and years of experience and deliver the classes so well. They are engaging, informative and supportive throughout.The classes: They are filled with people that help and support each other to achieve their best. This is such a massive thing for me as my son actually wants to go to classes every week and has a great group of people around him no matter which session he goes too.This has helped his confidence and resilience in such a quick amount of time with such a positive impact in all aspects of my son’s life.If you are wanting to start a class then this is definitely the place to go. There is such a wide range of classes and focus to suit your needs. You’re joining community not just a class!

After 2 weeks of attending kickboxing classes I have already seen the benefits. We decided to enrol our daughter for a number of reasons, including having an outlet for her energy, learning discipline and making friends.She enjoyed the initial 1-2-1 session (free of charge) with Master Fern and couldn't wait to start the following week. She was very nervous, but within minutes another student went over to her and encouraged her onto the mat. The instructors are incredibly approachable and helpful and the atmosphere in the dojo is really positive. All students are spoken to when they arrive and leave the building and are told how well they have done that session.My daughter already feels more confident in herself and it is lovely to see her working and communicating with different partners (of all ages) when I collect her from the dojo.The great thing for us as a family is there are 4 sessions a week that we can choose from (she goes twice a week) and we book her place on the app. This allows us to be flexible with when she attends and she doesn't miss out on a session.

I cannot recommend the guys enough… from the start I was made to feel welcome, Master Dean offered me and Rocco a free trial and he went through everything with a fine tooth comb! This was the structure of everything they had to offer and when you sign up, you also get a free inform!I also signed up to the app, which is very informative, giving all the information I need and reminders for the classes, which you can also book online.Rocco enjoyed it that much, he mentioned it everyday until we went back.The class itself is amazing, they teach boys and girls of all ages, discipline, respect and make learning fun, the kids also burn up a-lot of energy and by the end of their 45 minute class my Rocco is absolutely shattered!If you are looking for a class for you little ones or yourself then look no further!

We signed our 3 and half year old son up to Martial Arts Burton with the aim of helping with focus and self confidence and several weeks in we can definitely see the benefits...P still struggles at times with the classes but all the staff and other attendees are so patient with him; he always joins in eventually and leaves each class with the biggest smile and buzzing at having been involved....we've seen him come out of his shell mixing with a new set of friends and it's been nice for us having other parents to reassure us. We'd highly recommend the classes, the tutors are all very different in their approaches but each one is well received by the children who all seem to respond well,, especially if they get to pick the Master in Ninja Ninja Turtle!

I would highly recommend this place. My son started few weeks ago and absolutely loves it. We have already started to see some improvements from when he first started.The team is made of lovely people , they made it easy for my son to settle in and enjoy every lesson. He is now looking forward to it every week.If you are thinking of joining, please do. You wont regret it. It is different from other martial art place as martial art burton doesnt only teaches martial art but also life lessons you child will benefit from.

Ethan has been at Karate for almost 3 weeks and he absolutely loves it. He is starting to grow in confidence and he has even made a new friend. He loves getting a progress stripe each week and always comes out smiling.The staff there are lovely and encouraging and the key words are great to help are great to help be a better person. To anyone who is thinking of joining, do it. It was the best decision me and my son ever made.

Aisha joined Martial Arts Burton in June/July 2023. She has settled into her kick-boxing routine and is becoming very comfortable with her weekly classes, though she missed some classes during the August break Master Dean was happy for her to make these up once she returns so she can keep up with her peers. Aisha is thriving in her new routine and is much more disciplined since joining. Going forward, we look forward to her development and achievements.
