This is our second meter install from SMS and it's been a disaster both times. So far the whole process has taken 3 months and we still don't actually have an electric meter. They keep saying one thing on the phone (yes we can send a 3-phase engineer") and then they actually send somebody with the wrong ticket for the job or nobody shows up at all. We've had 4 fixed appointments over that timescale and still have no smart meter.Last year when our gas meter was installed it was a similar story. Our supplier (Octopus) kept putting the job down as an emergency

Verbally informed them I was not interested in a smart meter in July 2023. Now reported to the ICO for spam e-mails, texts and calls. Heavy fines are the only way to reign in rogue actions in light-touch, wild-west regulation. contemporary Britain.

Booked appointments through OVO to get my gas meter checked out (not consistently send smart readings).Engineers failed to turn up on three separate occasions over 3 months. Engineer then turned up without notice. So nobody was about to deal with them.Definitely very poor communication going on between OVO, SMS and customer.This needs sorting out.

This company is a joke. 4 times we have booked (through Octopus, our energy provider) their services to install a smart meter reading. Twice they did not even show up at all without letting us know, once they needed an access upstairs to their neighbor which was not possible at the time and today the technician did not have a ladder... (I offered him mine but he could not according to HSE rules). So that means 4 times we had to take a half day off work for nothing. Absolutely ridiculous

Wate of my time waited in all day for a new smart meter install and then got a phone call at 3.30pm saying they can't come out today and next appointment would be November total waste of a day hope octopus have another install company

Moved into a property, no gas supply/hot water. I had an emergency appointment booked with SMS.I confirmed I will be at the property all day. I was waiting all morning, I missed a call near the end of the appointment slot. The engineer only called once, they proceeded to cancel my appointment despite the fact I have no gas supply and confirmed I will be at the property all day.I raised the issue with my gas company and I was informed this is a recurring issue with SMS cancelling appointments.Unacceptable and unprofessional.

Four weeks since installation and still no gas being measured. No response from SMS either. At some point energy supplier will need to know my meter reading. Would recommend anyone considering SMS to avoid - I regret getting it installed.

If i could give zero stars I would. They are incapable of telling the time, no show for my AM appointment, rescheduled and was 2 hours late in the PM. Cancelled completely as I had plans and didn’t want to be late. My mother taught me how to use a watch!!Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. Absolute joke!!

Seems like my experience is the same as a lot of people's unfortunately. They've cancelled twice on us now (already been waiting for 4 months for a smart meter install) and then offered an installation 8 months after the cancellation. Please be aware if you are with Octopus that this company is horrendous as they seem to only use them. If you can try and get another installer.

Smart meter replaced Friday 13th November. Problems with electricity not connecting. Promised call mid week and if not resolved then call back following Friday to again replace meter. No calls or visit since initial visit. Best asking your energy provider prior to installing meter and if this crowd beware.
