Good nature trail for those fit enough to do the 3 mile return walk. Limited car parking though, but there are toilet facilities. I find the best times to visit and have the best chance of seeing most wild birds is between high and low tide as the birds often then come up into the river. Keep an eye out also for the Roe Deer usually in the field to the right when crossing the wooden bridge near treeline. If you have a good scope or binoculars these give lots of opportunities to see the many wild birds. This is a free reserve but donations can be left.

I absolutely love the beach and nature reserve! It's incredibly quiet and peaceful, with the soothing sounds of waves and rustling leaves. Whenever the sun is shining, you can bet I'll be there, enjoying the serenity and escaping the daily grind. It's my go-to spot for relaxation and connecting with nature.

A beautiful natural area to view birds. You must have enough time to trek into the offsides. Loved the connecting bridge. It was so scenic. We used the bus to get there so it was quite a walk from the town bus stop and back to it to catch the same bus back to holiday park.

A small car park is available at the footbridge leading into the reserve. The 1-2 mile walk to the shoreline is enough to deter visitors just looking for a day at the beach. The clearance of the overgrowth in sea buckthorn bushes and the relative remoteness makes for a reserve with stunning wildlife and large, unspoiled sand dunes. Note: dogs are not allowed on the reserve!
