Essex Backyard Throwers
As a female i was a little dubious about going along to Essex Back Yard throwers, but genuinely, going to the club is the highlight of my week. The nicest group of people with so much knowledge and skill. It’s light hearted with an aim of getting you to the skill level you want to be at. Alan and Roger have been so kind and helpful and have been nothing but encouraging and motivating, as has the rest of the ladies and gents at the club. Can not recommend this club enough.

I wasn't much for organized sports or clubs until coming here, you get so much guidance, a great group of people to spend a Tuesday evening with having a laugh throwing axes & knives, great for new comers & those looking to get into it as a hobby! Highly recommend!! :)

Brilliant club. Second competition here and still loving it. Great guys running it, everyone is always friendly, the set up is good and the whole event well organized. Recommend anyone in the area that wants to give the sport a go to get in touch and arrange a session.

The idea that one of the best throwing clubs in the country is situated just outside London and a few people know it is WILD to me.The instructors are some of the best throwers in Europe and they are also the nicest people you'll ever meet.You'll be lucky if you get to say Old Alan and Roger taught me how to throw my first knives".It's a community of good and wise people."

Was part of a group who visited on 3/2/19 and we all had an amazing time, the instructors were professional, knowledgeable and you felt really safe in their guidance. Would definitely recommend and go again if the opportunity arose.

Been going to the club now for just over a month and can honestly say I have never met a nicer group of people. Alan and Roger have been nothing but kind, helpful and do all they can to make you feel comfortable and confident sharing their immense knowledge and helping every step of the way. Can't recommend this place enough. I travel over and hour to get there each Tuesday and its worth every minute.

Essex Backyard Throwers
Went there for my birthday with some friends and all of us really loved it. Something a bit different and really good fun! You get really good value for your money - about 3 hours that include throwing angels, then knifes then axes. You get lots of throws and some really good instructions, as well as a little demo from the UK champion and a little competition at the end. Teas and coffees are included. Toilets and parking on site. Easy going, lots of laughs kind of activity. Highly recommend.
