Only a couple of hard paths are useable in winter, as the Common is largely waterlogged during the winter months.

Do the Hamble-le-Rice and Royal Victoria Country Park Circular, not 100% follow up the trail so that some are muddy but still easy and nice walk, Nice place and have country side , sea and forest view. that is enjoyable

Lovely space to watch the ships and boats, I've took some great photos here with camera and my drone.Ample parking and nice walks along pebble beach area.Sadly nowhere to get a drink or food and no toilets that I know of.There is a marina near by, but looks a bit posh so have not attempted to pop in..Only negative is other people, the lazy dirty ones that feel it's OK just to dump there rubbish all over, but clearly it does it cleaned up by some one...

i walked all the way from Weston.A great walk with great views. When you get to the oil terminal and think the pathway ends,it doesn't. The route i took ended on the waterfront in Hamble village. There is coastal erosion but the pathway follows another route in places.Great place for families, kids and dogs, and single folk like me.The reed beds can be a bit soggy after winter but the diversity of the common is really special.Beach, marsh, woods and narrow paths and open grass land. The gun in my photo isn't the original bofors gun sited here in world war 2 but a replacement, and very real.

A nice place to walk and a free car park near by for good access. The old path is suffering from costal erosion but there is a new path to follow. The map and information sign is on the gun wall.

Love place to walk, with a small rocky/shingle/sandy beach. Views of distant Isle of Wight and boat watching. You can walk to Hamble village from Hamble Point and also the nearby Hamble Conservation area - where you may see Highland cattle grazing the scrubland.

A lovely quiet place near the river Hamble. Great for a place to just chillout. Can get quite muddy when it is raining so best to plan on a nice day. Also a great place for sea fishing along the shore.
