Travelodge Carlisle Todhills

I stayed here on my way back down from Scotland. Rooms are as basic as you can get. It feels like your staying in a hospital (if that makes sense). But it did the job.

Fuss free hotel by the motorway.Check in was super quick (30seconds). Rooms is spacious by UK standards. It is a bit spartan but very functional. Great for a overnight stopover if you are travelling long distance.

The location was perfect for my business trip between Scotland and Lanacashire. There were no food options other than the petrol station, so pre buy. I found the room to be mostly clean but the carpet could have done with a thorough going over and a few dead bugs in the bathroom which may have been there after cleaning but still not great.

Worst night sleep I ever had. Creeking floorboards from the room above. Not the person's fault in the room, you should be able to go to the toilet without disturbing other people below.Floorboards need attention or replacing.

We were met by Ruth on reception who was very helpful and very nice. We found the room very nice and clean and good value for money. The hotel is nice and quiet and a great place to stop and spend the night. I will definitely will be returning to this hotel someday and would highly recommend to all.

Our room was at the front of the hotel, so directly next to the motorway which we could hear all night (windows closed). Stairs also very squeaky. Light also shines through the sides of the curtains from the car park and sides of the doors from the corridor, so the room is quite bright. Struggled to sleep for these reasons. Room otherwise is fine, clean except one of our towels had a clump of hair in it.

Clean rooms, friendly staff and very good parking. Average travelode needs a bit of a refurbish but clean. Good access to the motorway and local to Carlisle.

Rooms are a decent size and clean, beds are pretty comfy, staff are friendly and helpful, and despite the proximity to the motorway it's a quiet whisper with the windows closed,So why 1 star?Because of the ceilings/floors. If you're unfortunate enough to be in a room below someone else, you get to experience the blood boiling sensation of no sound proofing or insulation between floors. The cacophony of creaking as paper thin floorboards are pounded on - an absolute horror story. If you hate sleeping and enjoy being enraged due to being forcibly kept awake, then you'll have a great time. If you're an actual human being though, you'll probably have a more sane time sleeping in your car.

Convenient, comfortable and good value for money location to sleep on a long journey.

Great location, near to Carlisle with the motorway junctions a couple minutes from the entrance from gretna and a couple minutes to the turn off for Carlisle.Costa next door, petrol station and free parking.
