We just popped in for lunch. The food was lovely but it was the service which really stood out. They were very friendly and helpful.

I was a member of one of the many rally crews who became stranded during storm Arwen last Friday night. I would like to say a very big thank you to all the staff who went well beyond the call of duty in providing us with a very friendly and safe place to stay. The free tea, coffee and bacon rolls were most welcome prior to us leaving the following morning.I definitely hope to return one day but will probably make sure it is during the summer!

Room had everything you need.Beds were comfortable and room was clean and tidy.Plenty of tea and coffee available.Bathroom area had recently been upgraded. The cooked breakfast was delicious and there was also a good choice of cereals on offer.Owners were welcoming and friendly. My only real complaint was the main door was shut at 2220hrs and use of the door fob was never explained to us by the barman on our check in.Took him 15 minutes to answer the doorbell.

Open from 2pm on a Wednesday, this Hotel ended up being a refuge on a very wet day in Langholm as the rest of the village was closed. Only the bar was open but it was a friendly atmosphere and the Guinness was good... And very reasonably priced. The bar area was a bit cold, (Perhaps just a sign of the times) We stayed for another pint..... Would have been rude not to!

We popped in here last week for a quick drink which turned into a few hours due the the friendly and warm welcome we got from the locals, it seemed a bit loud when we first went in but don’t let this put you of this is a great place for a cheap pint and socialising, we went to another bar down the road which was empty probably due to the patronising and derogatory manner in which me and my partner were subject to by the guy behind the bar, apparently only men make good chefs!

What a lovely place of lovely people! We booked in the hotel across the road (which is no longer open but still on booking.com! Don't book the Zara!) So the people at the Crown took us in!Nothing open for food as passed 9pm so they turned their fryers back on and brought us beautiful meals to our room! Comfortable rooms and amazing breakfast. They could not do enough for us. Genuine and wonderful people. Pricing is excellent also. Will visit again when next up! Thank you

Have stayed at The Crown Hotel a number of times. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Bedrooms are always clean and tidy, beds very comfortable, ensuite great, always plenty of hot water for a shower. Plenty of tea and coffee in room. Public areas clean and tidy. Samantha and Steve who own The Crown are so friendly and show a true interest in the history of the building. Lots of information of The Common Riding ... If you visit ask about what is a celebration of the town's history. What can be said about the food, great selection available and prepared and served to a high standard, the good quality of ingredients makes this a dining experience much higher than the normal run of the mill meals served at many eatery's. Full cooked breakfast is also well prepared and will fill the most hungry of mouths. (Ask Sam about the haggis. I'm a townie and found it very interesting ???) The bar has a very good selection of beers and spirits and always made to feel welcome by the bar staff and customers. During our stays we have seen the upgrading that the owner have done and are going to continue to do. Thank you to Sam and Steve and all the staff that make a stay here enjoyable and we are looking forward to visiting in the future.

My husband and I stopped for one night on our way from Edinburgh to Essex. We arrived around 18:30 and were welcomed by Ellie and Brian. Lovely check in, nice pub, nice food and fabulous service. Bed very comfortable and room had everything we needed. Come visit us in brazil at our B&B. We for sure will come back to the crown if coming your way. Cheers!! Richard and Marcos
