My Aunt unfortunately ended up in this appalling excuse for a Care Home in The Hawthorne building on a Palliative care bed in April 22 for 13days. Adult safeguarding were involved because her care was so appalling! Please Do Not put your relatives in this Care Home as I wouldn't even Kennel my Dog in this Home. I am surprised that the CQC have not shut this place down! I am a Nurse of 25 years & I have never been in such a truly awful place with such appalling basic care, lack of communication or empathy from so called Qualified Nurses & Carers. The Manager of this Care Home should hold their head in shame in the standards of care that were given to my Aunt! Shut this place down now. It does not even deserve a one star rating!

Dad had been placed into respite care for a week. Unfortunately due to his health and condition, dad declined whilst in respite stay and very sadly passed away during his stay there. This was the first time of using St Quentins home for Respite.Despite the fact that dad had unexpectedly passed away whilst in the Care of the home, the staff where absolutely amazing with dad and the family and myself to accommodate us during this very difficult time.Angela the clinical lead, was amazing, with her high standard of care, and cattered to all of dad's needs up to the very end.Very sadly we won't get another opportunity to put dad back into respite but for me, if there was, I would absolutely recommend this home and would absolutely use again.I can't thank Angela and staff enough for what they did for dad and us whilst he was in there

Really happy with the care my grandad received in The Hawthorns. He moved there from a very poor care home and the care he received here was amazing. He was always clean, well fed and cared for. Everything was documented and explained. We always had updates on his care and everytime we visited the staff were always professional and very friendly Would recommend.

My grandad was recently here and being a nurse I’d never let anyone be a resident at this care home. He was neglected had numerous safeguarding issues from nursing staff not giving medication and behaviour towards residents being appealing and untidy residents left in their urine. Avoid if you can!

We went to view the Hawthorns earlier today for this to be a home for our mum, we pressed the buzzer and a Nurse opened the door for us then went to sit down at a desk scrolling through her phone!! (we could of been anyone! alarm bells of this home were ringing straight away) She eventually came back to us when a family who were visiting a parent needed to exit the building. First impressions are lasting impressions and very very unprofessional. The nurse told the manager that we’d come to view the home, the manager sat in her chair and shouted Room 1!!! No communication and so poor. Heartbreaking to think that this place exists. Staff leaning up against wall it was all a very strange experience. Over my dead body would I let my mum go here. Lovely place on the outside though.
