InstaVolt Charging Station

Absolute nightmare of a parking situation. Is this the busiest McDonald's in England? Feels like it. Next time I'm going to PodPoint up the road.

Nothing against the chargers points as they are great. Should Instavolt provide any phone number to call when we want to charge our car and there are two good citizens" with their petrol engine cars parked on the chargers' place."

You'll get fine for parking restrictions if you stayed more than 90 mins. I stayed almost 2 hours and get parking fine. InstaVolt should clearly provide signage on their charging location but now.. Otherwise fast charging works very well

Great place to have it, after all who finds it hard to get to a McDonald’s? The downside is that it is a busy place. The parking is tight (i.e a squeeze getting out of the car if you are a bit fat like me) and when I left after a speedy charge (which is why I would consider returning), it was very busy getting into it.

These are great chargers.located in the McDonald's carpark in Newmarket. There is two chargers both offering 50kwh CCS and chadamo tethered chargers. Straightforward to use but there is one big problem, the location. Instead of putting them in a sensible place they have been placed right in front of the entrance to the drive through. Parking to charge is simple enough but reversing out can be a challenge.

Stopped en route from London to North Norfolk on a freezing day which limited my range so only had 11 miles left on arrival . The car park was very busy and two petrol cars were in the EV spaces . The Mcdonalds staff were apologetic but said they could do nothing about it . Having very limited power left I had to wait for about 40 minutes until a family returned to their car saying there weren't any other spaces so they had to park" in the EV charger slot . The chargers are simple to use and fast but when the petrol car in the EV slot next to me left it was immediately replaced by another petrol car blocking the other EV slot . No idea what the solution is but many other reviews mention the same issue and it's not really acceptable - very frustrating ."

Very easy to use when you can get at them. The 2 charge points are in the McDonalds car park, which is small, so at popular eating times the charging points are often ICE’d (blocked by internal combustion engines)

Half hour or so of 50kw charging got me plenty of charge to get home with enough to get me to work the next day. Reliable, fast which are the two things you want when you're heading home after a long day out. Worth the little bit extra for that peace of mind.

NOT 24h. There's a barrier that will prevent entry before 7am in line with the McDonald's opening hours.Three stars because this may be of the older type of InstaVolt chargers, but the new ones are an absolute hit and miss, whereas these have always worked on the first attempt on my Zoe.EDIT1: I have requested clarification for the misleading 24hr availability to the email they offered in their reply.

Had to ask a couple of guys in an Audi TT if they could move so I could use the charger, which they happily did thankfully. The car park for the McDonalds at this site is very small so I wouldn't be surprised if these chargers are regularly ICE'd.Once the guys moved, usual Instavolt experience - simple to use and get started, reliable and fast enough to put 100+ miles in while having dinner. Just what we needed on our way back from a long weekend.
