The Savernake Dental Practice

Jonathan managed to squeeze me in at short notice because of a persistent toothache and he managed an extraction as the solution. A week later Alistair again gave me a short notice appointment to remove a piece of root that has descended as J said it might. Overall, not the solution I had hoped for but the Practice managing to give short notice appointments was much appreciated.

I cannot fault this practice at all. I am their worst nightmare being anxious and petrified of dentists they do nothing but help try to calm me down while reassuring me. I’ve needed several emergency appointments in the past few weeks and they have been incredible at getting me seen. For someone with anxiety the posters of where’s Wally are a brilliant distraction. I would give the practise 5* and fully recommend. The staff are all so nice which is very refreshing.

Would recommend this practise to anyone especially for Orthodontic treatment. Denise is extremely professional and has transformed my daughter’s teeth over the last 2 years. We are really pleased with the results.

Heidi and Megan were brilliant and did root canal work very professionally and with no discomfort to me whatsoever. I think it is probably the best health care experience I have had. I highly recommend them and the practice in general.

I not only always receive both excellent and professional dental care from the whole team but it is delivered in a friendly way with time taken to explain the treatment plan and options. As a recently retired GP myself I know how difficult it can be to find the necessary time to make the patient feel comfortable and unhurried. At Savernake they manage to achieve that every time, and keep to time!

My one beef is in regard to waiting times. In my long experience of being a patient at SD, I have NEVER been attended to on time, there is usually at least a 5-10 minute overrun. This time around, I had to wait nearly 1/2 an hour and with no apology or explanation. Why are the appointment times so unrealistically tight if the practice cannot keep to them?

I'm a very nervous visitor to the dentist. I had to go in to have a tooth extraction, all the staff were very good. The dentist was also very good in explaining the process and doing his best to put my mind at ease.Unfortunately i had to go back a further 3 times due to a very painful dry socket condition. After repacking the area several times by two different dentists and a 3rd dentist consultation i questioned whether or not they had left a piece of tooth behind.I even showed them a picture of a piece of the root missing from the extracted tooth and asked if it could be causing the pain, to which i was assured they had left nothing behind.So here i am , nearly a month later. Having been taking pain killers for weeks hoping it would heal itself. A sharp object starts to appear over the last two days. Yes it's the piece they had left behind which i had questioned all along.Just a few hours later and the pain has gone.VERY disappointing!David Crookes
